40- Surat Ghafir

85 Verses Meccan (revealed in Mecca)

A'auzu Bellahi mena alshaiytani alrajeem

I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan

Bismi Ellahi Alrhmani Alraheem

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Ha meem (1).
Ha meem.

Tanzeeluo alketabi mena Allahi Alazeezi Al-aleem (2).
The revelation of the book is from Allah, the Almighty, the All-Knower.

Ghafiri alzanbi wa qabeli altawbi shadeedi aleqabi zee altawli la illaha ella huwa elaiyhi almaseer (3).
Forgiver of the sin and Acceptor of the repentance, Severe in the punishment, Owner of the blessings, there is no God but He, and to Him is the final return.

Ma yujadeluo fee ayati ellahi ella llazina kafaruo fa-la yaghrurka taqallubuhum fee albelad (4).
No one argues in the verses of Allah except those who disbelieve, so do not let their movement in lands deceive You.

Before them, the people of Noah and the factions after them denied, and every nation intended to seize their Messenger, and they argued by falsehood so that they may refute the truth with it, so I seized them, then How was my punishment?.

Wa kazaleka haqqat kalematuo Rabbika ala allazina kafaruo annahum as-habuo alnar (6).
And thus the word of Your Lord has come true against those who disbelieve that they are the companions of the Fire.

Allazina yahmeluona al-arsha wa man hawlahuo yousabbehuna behamdi Rabbehim wa you'menuona behi wa yastagheruona lel-lazina amanuo Rabbana wase'ta kulla shaiy-in rahmatan wa elman fa-ghfir lel-lazina tabuo wa-ttaba-uo sabeelaka wa qehim azaba aljaheem (7).
Those who carry the throne and those who are around it glorify with the praise of their Lord and believe in Him and ask forgiveness for those who believe, Our Lord you encompass everything by mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who repent and follow Your way, and save them from the punishment of the Hellfire.

Rabbana wa adkhelhum jannati adnin allati wa'adtahum wa man salaha men aba-ehim wa azwajehim wa zurriyyatehim innaka anta Alazizu Alhakeem (8).
Our Lord and admit them into gardens of Eden which you have promised them, and whoever was righteous among their fathers and their spouses and their offspring, indeed, You are the Almighty, the All-Wise.

Wa qehimuo alsayyi-ati wa man taqi alsayyi-ati yawma-izin fa-qad rahemtahuo wa zaleka huwa alfawzuo alazeem (9).
And save them from the evils, and whoever you save from the evils that day, then indeed, You have bestowed mercy on him, and that is the great success.

Inna allazina kafaruo younadawna la-maqtuo Allahi akbaruo men maqtekum anfusakum iz tuod-awna ela al-imani fa-takfuruon (10).
Indeed, those who disbelieve will be addressed, the hatred of Allah is greater than the hatred of yourselves when you were called to the faith and you disbelieved.

Qaluo Rabbana amattana ethna-taiyni wa ahyaiytana ethna-taiyni fa'tarafna be-zunubena fa-hal ela khurujin men sabeel (11).
They will say Our Lord You gave us death twice and gave us life twice, and we confess our sins so is there any way to get out?.

Zalekum be-annahu iza duo-eiya Allahu wahdahuo kafartum wa in youshrak behi tou'menuo fa-alhukmuo lellahi Al-aliyyi Alkabeer (12).
That is because when Allah was called alone, you disbelieve, but if it is associated with Him you believe, so the judgment is to Allah the Most High, the Most Grand.

Huwa allazi yourekum ayatehi wa younazzeluo lakum mena alsama-ee rezqan wa ma yatazakkaruo ella man youneeb (13).
It is He who shows you His signs and sends down provision for you from the sky, but no one remembers except whoever turns.

Fad-uo Allaha mukhleseena lahu alddeena wa laww kareha alkaferuon (14).
So call upon Allah, being sincere to Him in religion, even if the disbelievers dislike.

Rafee-uo alddarajati zuo alarshi youlqi alruoha men amrehi ala man yasha-uo men ebadehi le-younzera yawma altalaq (15).
The Exalted in degrees, the Possessor of the throne, He places the Spirit of His command upon whomever He wills of His servants to warn of the day of Meeting.

Yawma hum barezuona la yakhfa ala Allahi menhum shaiy-on le-mani almulkuo alyawma lellahi Alwahedi Alqahhar (16).
The day they will come forth, nothing of them is hidden from Allah, to whom belongs the kingdom today?, to Allah, the One, the Oft-omnipotent.

Alyawma toujza kulluo nafsin bema kasabat la zulma alyawma inna Allaha saree-uo alhesab (17).
Today every soul will be recompensed for what it earned, no injustice today, indeed, Allah is swift in reckoning.

Wa anzerhum yawma al-azefati izi alqulubuo lada alhanajeri kazemeena ma lel-zalemeena men hameemin wa la shafee-in youta' (18)
And warn them the day of Alazefah when the hearts are at the throats, chocked, for the wrongdoers there will not be intimate friend nor an intercessor to be obeyed.

Ya'lamuo khaenata al-a'ayuni wa ma tuokhfee alsuduor (19).
He knows the stealthy glance of the eyes, and what the breasts conceal.

Wa Allahu yaqdi bel-haqqi wa allazina yad-uona men duonehi la yaqduona be-shaiy-in inna Allaha huwa Alsamee-uo Albaseer (20)
And Allah judges with the truth, and those whom they invoke besides Him cannot judge anything, indeed, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing.

Awa-lam yaseeruo fee alardi fa-yanzuruo kaifa kana aqebatuo allazzina kanuo men qablehim kanuo hum ashadda menhum quwwatan wa atharan fee alardi fa-akhazahumuo Allahu be-zunubehim wa ma kana lahum mena Allahi men waq (21)
Have they not traveled in the land and see how was the end of those before them?, they were greater than them in might and in traces left on the earth, but Allah seized them for their sins, and they had not any savior against Allah.

Zaleka be-annahum kanat ta'teehim rusuluhum bel-bayyinati fa-kafaruo fa-akhazahumuo Allahu innahuo qawiyyun shadeedu aleqab (22).
That is because their Messengers used to come to them with clear proofs, but they disbelieved, so Allah seized them, indeed, He is All-Strong, Severe in punishment.

Wa laqad arsalna Musa be-ayyatena wa sultanin mubeen (23).
And indeed, We sent Moses with Our signs and a clear authority.

Ela Fer'awna wa Hamana wa Qaruona fa-qaluo saherun kazzab (24).
To Pharaoh and Haman and Qaruon but they said a magician, a liar.

Fa-lamma ja'ahum bel-haqqi men endena qaluo auqtuluo abna'a allazina amanuo ma'ahuo was-tahyuo nesa-ahum  wa ma kaiyduo alkafereena ella fee dalal (25).
And when He brought them the truth from Us, they said, kill the sons of those who believed with Him, and keep their women alive, but the plot of the disbelievers is not except in error.

Wa qala Fer'awnu zaruoni aqtul Musa wal-yad-uo Rabbahu inni akhafuo an youbaddela deenakum aww an youzhera fee alardi alfasad (26).
And Pharaoh said let me kill Moses and let Him call upon His Lord, indeed, I fear that He will change your religion or that He will cause to appear the corruption in the land.

Wa qala Musa inni auztuo be-Rabbi wa Rabbekum men kulli mutakabberin la you'menuo be-yawmi alhesab (27).
And Moses said indeed, I thought refuge in My Lord and Your Lord from every arrogant who does not believe in the day of reckoning.

Wa qala rajulun mu'menun men ali Fer'awna yaktumuo emanahuo a-taqtuluona rajulan an yaquola Rabbiya Allahu wa qad ja'akum bel-bayyinati men Rabbekum wa in yaku kazeban fa-aliayhi kazebuhuo wa in yaku sadeekan yousebkum ba'duo allazi ya-edukum inna Allaha la yahdi man huwa musrefun kazzab (28).
And a believing man from the family of Pharaoh who conceals his faith said Do you kill a man because he says My Lord is Allah and indeed, He has brought you clear proofs from your Lord, and if He is a liar, then His lie is upon Him, and if He is truthful, then some of that of which He promises you will befall you, indeed, Allah does not guide he who is transgressor, a liar.

Ya-qawmi lakumuo almulkuo alyawma zahereena fee alardi fa-man yansuruna men ba'si ellahi in ja'ana qala Fer'awnu ma aureekum ella ma ara wa ma ahdeekum ella sabeela alrashad (29).
O my people! the kingdom is yours today, dominant on the earth, but who will help us from the punishment of Allah if it came to us? Pharaoh said I do not show you except what I see, and I do not guide you except to the right path.

Wa qala allazi amana ya-qawmi inni akhafuo alaiykum methla yawmi alahzab (30).
And he who believed said O my people! indeed, I fear for you like the day of the factions.

Methla da'bi qawmi Noohin wa Adin wa Thamuda wa allazina men ba'dehim wa ma Allahu youreduo zulman lel-ebad (31).
Like the state of the people of Noah and Ad and Thamud and those after them, and Allah does not intend injustice for the servants.

Wa ya-qawmi inni akhafuo alaiykum yawma altanad (32).
And O my people! indeed, I fear for you the day of Altanad.

Yawma tuowalluna mudbereena ma lakum mena Allahi men asemin wa man youdleli ellahu fa-ma lahu men had (33).
A day you will turn back fleeing, having no protector from Allah, and whoever Allah lets go astray, then there is no guide for him.

Wa laqad ja'akum Yusufu men qabluo bel-bayyinati fa-ma zeltum fee shakkin memma ja'akum behi hatta iza halaka qultum lan yab'atha Allahu men ba'dehi rasulan kazaleka youdelluo Allahu man huwa musreefun murtab (34)
And Joseph came to you before with clear proofs, but you remained in doubt about what He brought to you, until when He died, you said Allah will never send a Messenger after Him, thus Allah lets go astray he who is transgressor, a doubter.

Allazina youjadeluona fee ayati ellahi be-ghaiyri sultanin atahum kabura maqtan enda Allahi wa enda Allazina amanuo kazaleka yatba'uo Allahu ala kulli qalbin mutakabberin jabbar (35).
Those who argue in the signs of Allah without an authority that has come to them, it is greatly hateful with Allah and with those who believe, thus, Allah seals the heart of every arrogant, tyrant.

Wa qala Fer'awnu ya-haman ebni lee sarhan la-alli ablughuo al-asbab (36).
And Pharaoh said o Haman! build for me a tower so that I may reach the ways.

Asbaba alsamawati fa-attali-a ela elahi Musa wa inni la-azunnuhuo kazeban wa kazaleka zuyyina le-fer'awna su-uo amalehi wa sudda ani alsabeeli wa ma kaiyduo fer'awna ella fee tabab (37).
The ways to the heavens so I may look at the God of Moses, and indeed, I think that He is a liar, and thus, it was beautified to Pharaoh the evil of his deeds, and He was prevented from the way, and the plot of Pharaoh is not except in loss.

Wa qala allazi amana ya-qawmi ettabe-uoni ahdekum sabeela alrashad (38).
And he who believed said O my people! follow me, I will guide you to the right path.

Ya-qawmi innama hazehi alhayatuo alduonya mata-on wa inna alakherata heiya daruo alqarar (39).
O my people! this worldly life is only an enjoyment, and indeed, the Hereafter is the abode of stability.

Man amela sayyi-atan fala youjza ella methlaha wa man amela salehan men zakarin aww auntha wa huwa mu'menun fa-aulaeka yadkhuluona aljannata yourzaquona feeha be-ghaiyri hesab (40).
Whoever does an evil deed will not be recompensed except by the like of it, and whoever does righteousness of male or female while he is a believer, then those will enter Paradise, they will be provided in it without account.

Wa ya-qawmi mali ad-ukum ela alnajati wa tad-unani ela alnar (41).
And O my people! what is for me that I call you to salvation and you call me to the fire?.

Tad-unani le-akfura be-llahi wa aushreka behi ma laiytha lee behi elmun wa ana ad-ukum ela Alazeezi Alghaffar (42).
You call me to disbelieve in Allah and associate with Him that of which I have no knowledge, and I call you to the Almighty, the Oft-Forgiving.

La jarama annama tad-unani elaiyhi laiytha lahuo da'watun fee alduonya wa la fee alakherati wa anna maraddana ela Allahi wa anna almusrefeena hum as-habuo alnar (43).
No doubt that what you call me to it, has no response in the worldly life nor in the Hereafter, and that our return is to Allah, and indeed that the transgressors are the companions of the fire.

Fa-satazkuruona ma aquluo lakum wa aufawweduo amri ela Allahi inna Allaha baseeron bel-ebad (44).
And you will remember what I say to you, and I entrust my affair to Allah, indeed, Allah is All-Seeing of the servants.

Fa-waqahuo Allahu sayyi-ati ma makaruo wa haqa be-ali Fer'awna su-uo alazab (45).
So Allah saved him from the evils that they plotted, and the people of Pharaoh have been encircled by the worst punishment.

Alnaruo you'raduona alaiyha ghuduwwan wa asheiyyan wa yawma taqumuo alsa-atuo adkheluo ala fer'awna ashadda alazab (46).
The fire, they will be exposed to it morning and evening, and the day when the Hour will be established, Enter the people of Pharaoh in the severest punishment.

Wa iz yatahajjuna fee alnari fa-yaquluo aldu-afauo lel-lazina estakbaruo inna kunna lakum taba'an fahal antum mughnuona anna naseeban mena alnar (47).
And when they will dispute in the fire, then the weak will say to those who were arrogant, we were followers for you, so Would you relieve from us a share of the fire?.

Qala allazina estakbaruo inna kullun feeha inna Allaha qad hakama baiyna al-ebad (48).
Those who were arrogant will say, indeed we all are in it, indeed, Allah has judged between the servants.

Wa qala allazina fee alnari le-khazanati jahannama ed-uo Rabbakum youkhaffif anna yawman mena alazab (49).
And those who are in the fire will say to the wardens of Hellfire, pray to your Lord to lighten for us a day of the punishment.

Qaluo awa-lam takuo ta'teekum rusulukum bel-bayyinati qaluo bala qaluo fad-uo wa ma du-a-uo alkafereena ella fee dalal (50)
They will say, Did not your Messengers came to you with clear proofs?, they will say yes, they will say then supplicate, but the supplication of the disbelievers is not except in error.

Inna la-nansuruo rusulana wa allazina amanuo fee alhayati alduonya wa yawma yaqumuo al-ashhad (51).
Indeed, We will help Our Messengers and those who believe in the worldly life, and the day when the witnesses will stand.

Yawma la yanfa-uo alzalemeena ma'zeratuhum wa lahumuo al-la'natuo wa lahum su-uo aldar (52).
The day when the excuse of the wrongdoers will not benefit them, and for them is the curse and for them is the worst abode.

Wa laqad ataiyna Musa alhuda wa awrthna bani israeela  alketab (53).
And indeed, We had given Moses the guidance and made the children of Israel to inherit the book.

Hudan wa zekra le-auli al-albab (54).
A guidance and a reminder for those of understanding.

Fa-sbir inna wa'da Allahi haqqun was-taghfir le-zanbeka wa sabeh be-hamdi Rabbika bel-ashiyyi wal-ebkar (55).
So Be patient, indeed, the promise of Allah is true, and Ask forgiveness for your sin and Glorify with the praise of Your Lord in the evening and in the morning.

Inna Allazina youjadeluona fee ayati ellahi be-ghaiyri sultanin atahum in fee sudurehim ella kebrun ma hum be-balegheehi fasta-iz be-llahi innahu huwa Alsamee-uo Albaseer (56)
Indeed those who argue in the signs of Allah without an authority that has come to them, there is nothing in their breasts but greatness, which they can not reach, so seek refuge in Allah, indeed, He is the All-hearing, the All-seeing.

La-khalquo alsamawati wa alardi akbaruo men khalqi alnasi wa lakenna akthara alnasi la ya'lamuon (57).
Indeed, the creation of the heavens and the earth is greater than the creation of mankind, but most of people do not know.

Wa ma yastawee ala'ama wa albaseeruo wa allazina amanuo wa ameluo alsalehati wa la almusee-uo qaleelan ma tatazakkaruon (58).
And the blind and the seeing are not equal, and nor those who believe and do righteous deeds and the evil-doer, little is what you remember.

Inna alsa-ata la-ateiyatun la raiyba feeha wa lakenna akthara alnasi la you'menuon (59).
Indeed, the Hour is coming, no doubt in it, but most of people do not believe.

Wa qala Rabbukumu ed-uoni astajib lakum inna allazina yastakberuona an ebadati sayad-khuluna jahannama dakhereen (60).
And Your Lord said, call upon Me, I will respond to you, indeed, those who are too arrogant to worship Me will enter Hellfire, humiliated.

Allahu allazi ja'ala lakumuo al-laila le-taskunuo feehi wa alnahara mubseran inna Allaha la-zuo fadlin ala alnasi wa lakenna akthara alnasi la yashkuruon (61).
Allah is the One who made for you the night so that you may rest therein, and the day giving light, indeed, Allah is Possessor of bounty to the people, but most of people do not give thanks.

Zalekumuo Allahu Rabbukum khalequo kulli shaiy-in la elaha ella huwa fa-anna tu'fakuon (62).
That is Allah, your Lord, the Creator of all thing, there is no god but He, so how are you being turned away?.

Kazaleka yu'fakuo allazina kanuo be-ayati ellahi yajhaduon (63).
Thus were being turned away those who used to reject the signs of Allah.

Allahu allazi ja'ala lakumuo alarda qararan wa alsama-a bena-an wa sawwarakum fa-ahsana suwarakum wa razaqakum mena altayyibati zalekumuo Allahu Rabbukum fa-tabaraka Allahu Rabbu al-alameen (64).
Allah is the One who made for you the earth a settlement, and the sky a building, and He formed you, then He perfected your forms and provided you of the good things, that is Allah your Lord, then blessed is Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

Huwa Alhayyu la ilaha ella huwa fad-uhuo mukhleseena lahu alddeena alhamduo lellahi Rabbi al-alameen (65).
He is the Ever-Living, there is no God but He, So call upon Him, being sincere to Him in religion, praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

Qul inni nuheetuo an a'abuda allazina tad'uona men duoni ellahi lamma ja'aneiya albayyi-natuo men Rabbi wa aumertuo an auslema le-Rabbi al-alameen (66).
Say I have been forbidden to worship those whom you invoke besides Allah when the clear proofs have come to me from My Lord, and I have been commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds.

Huwa allazi khalaqakum men turabin thumma men nutfatin thumma men alaqatin thumma youkherjukum teflan thumma le-tablughuo ashuddakum thumma le-takunuo shuyukhan wa menkum man youtawaffa men qabluo wale-tablughuo ajalan musamman wala-allakum ta'qeluon (67).
He is the One who created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging blood, then He brings you out as a child, then you reach you maturity then you become old, and some of you die before and so that you reach an appointed term, and so that you may understand.

Huwa allazi youhyi wa youmeetuo fa-iza qada amran fa-innama yaquluo lahuo kun fa-yakuon (68).
He is the One who gives life and causes death, and when He decrees a matter, He only says to it Be, and it comes to be.

A-lam tara ela allazina youjadeluona fee ayati ellahi anna yousrafuon (69)
Do You not see those who argue in the signs of Allah, so how are they being turned away?.

Allazina kazzabuo bel-ketabi wa bema arsalna behi rusulana fa-sawfa ya'lamuon (70).
Those who deny the book, and what We sent Our Messengers with it, so they will know.

Izi al-aghlaluo fee a'anaqehim wa alsalaseluo yous-habuon (71).
When the shackles are around their necks and the chains, they will be dragged.

Fee alhameemi thumma fee alnari yousjaruon (72).
In boiling water, then in the fire, they will be burned.

Thumma qeela ayna ma kuntum tushrekuon (73).
Then it will be said to them, Where are those whom you used to associate?.

Men duoni ellahi qaluo dalluo anna bal lam nakun nad-uo men qabluo shaiy-an ka-zaleka youdelluo Allahu alkafereen (74).
Besides Allah, they will say, they are lost from us, but we did not invoke anything before, thus, Allah lets the disbelievers go astray.

Zalekum bema kuntum tafrahuona fee alardi be-ghaiyri alhaqqi wa bema kuntum tamrahuon (75).
That was because you used to rejoice on the earth without right, and because you used to aggress.

Audkhuluo abwaba jahannama khaledeena feeha fabe'sa mathwa almutakabbereen (76).
Enter the gates of the Hellfire to abide therein, so wretched is the abode of the arrogant.

Fa-sbir inna wa'da Allahi haqqun fa-imma nuoreiyannaka ba'da allazi na-eduhum aww natawaffayannaka fa-elaiyna yourja-uon (77).
So be patient, indeed, the promise of Allah is true, so whether We show You some of what We have promised them or We take You in death, then to Us they will be returned.

Wa laqad arsalna rusulan men qableka menhum man qasasna alaiyka wa menhum man lam naqsus alaiyka wa ma kana le-rasulin an ya'teiya be-ayatin ella be-izni ellahi fa-iza ja'a amruo Allahi qudeiya bel-haqqi wa khasera hunaleka almubteluon (78).
And indeed, We sent Messengers before You, among them those whom We have narrated to You, and among them those whom We have not narrated to You, and it was not for a Messenger that He brings a sign without the permission of Allah, so when the command of Allah comes it will be judged in truth and there the adherent of falsehood will lose.

Allahu allazi ja'ala lakumuo alana'ama le-tarkabuo menha wa menha ta'kuluon (79)
Allah is the One who made for you the cattle so that you may ride on some of them, and you eat some of them.

Wa lakum feeha manafe-uo wa letablughuo alaiyha hajatan fee sudurekum wa alaiyha wa ala alfulki tuohmaluon (80).
And for you therein are benefits, and so that you may reach a need in your breasts, and upon them and upon the ships you are carried.

Wa yourekum ayatehi fa-ayya ayati ellahi tunkeruon (81).
And He shows you His signs, so which of the signs of Allah will you deny?.

Afa-lam yaseeruo fee alardi fa-yanzuruo kaiyfa kana aqebatuo allazina men qablehim kanuo akthara menhum wa ashadda quwwatan wa atharan fee alardi fa-ma aghna anhum ma kanuo yaksebuon (82).
Have they not traveled in the land and see how was the end of those before them, they were more numerous than them and they were greater in might and in traces left on the earth, so they were not availed by what they used to earn.

Fa-lamma ja'at-hum rusuluhum bel-bayyinati farehuo bema endahum mena al-elmi wa haqa behim ma kanuo behi yastahze-uon (83).
And when their Messengers came to them with clear proofs, they rejoiced in what they had of knowledge, so they have been encircled by what they used to ridicule it.

Fa-lamma ra'aww ba'sana qaluo amanna bellahi wahdahuo wa kafarna bema kunna behi mushrekeen (84).
And when they saw our punishment, they said, we believe in Allah alone, and we disbelieve in what we used to associate with Him.

Fa-lam yaku yanfa-uhum emanuhum lamma ra'aww ba'sana sunnata Allahi allati qad khalat fee ebadehi wa khasera hunaleka alkaferuon (85).
But their faith did not benefit them when they saw Our punishment, the rule of Allah that has passed among His servants, and there the disbelievers will lose.

Simplified interpretation:

Surat Ghafir begins with two letters of the Arabic language, just like 28 Surahs of the Holy Quran that start with individual letters ranging from one to five letters. It is noticeable that in all 29 Surahs the book or the Holy Quran is mentioned whether it is immediately after these letters or it is included in the Surah or even at the end of it. It is a challenge from Allah, Almighty, to the infidels of Quraish, as if Allah says to them this is the book in the letters of the language you speak, but you will not be able to produce the like of it, and He has already challenged them in Aya (88) of Surat Alisraa "Say, if mankind and the Jinn gathered in order to produce the like of this Quran, they could not produce the like of it, even if they were to each other assistants". As for the current Surah it begins with two letters "Ha and Meem" or "H and M" in English followed by "The revelation of the book is from Allah, the All-mighty, the All-Knower", but the knowledge of these letters remains with Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

Allah says in the first three verses (1-3) "Ha meem, the revelation of the book is from Allah, the Almighty, the All-Knower, Forgiver of the sin and Acceptor of the repentance, Severe in the punishment, Owner of the blessings, there is no God but He, and to Him is the final return", where Allah confirms that He has revealed the Holy Quran upon His Messenger Muhammad (PBUH), and He is Almighty who is Severe in His revenge on those who disobeyed Him, and He is All-Knower of everything, then Allah confirms that He forgives the past sins and accepts the repentance, He is Severe in the punishment for those who disbelieve in Him and refuse to submit to Him alone, and He is the Owner of the blessings that He bestows upon His servants, there is no equal to Him in all His attributes and there is no god but He, and to Him is the final return on the day of resurrection and He will recompense every soul for what it has done in the worldly life.

Allah says in the next three verses (4-6) "No one argues in the verses of Allah except those who disbelieve, so do not let their movement in lands deceive You, before them, the people of Noah and the factions after them denied, and every nation intended to seize their Messenger, and they argued by falsehood so that they may refute the truth with it, so I seized them, then how was my punishment?, and thus the word of Your Lord has come true against those who disbelieve that they are the companions of the Fire" that is, Allah addresses His Messenger and says that only those who disbelieve in Him argue in His verses and deny it, and He commanded Him not to deceive by their movement in the lands and their enjoyment in its blessings and wealth, then Allah reassures Him that they are like those who preceded them from among the previous nation who denied their Messengers like the people of the Prophet Noah, and the factions from every nation where every nation made every effort to kill their Messenger and they argued their Messenger by falsehood in order to refute the truth that He brought to them from Allah, so Allah destroyed them by a severe and a painful punishment as Allah says "Then how was my punishment?", and a severest punishment awaits them on the day of resurrection for the word of Allah has come true against those who disbelieve whether they were from the previous nations or from Quraish that they are the companions of the Hellfire.

Allah says in the next three verses (7-9) "Those who carry the throne and those who are around it glorify with the praise of their Lord and believe in Him and ask forgiveness for those who believe, Our Lord you encompass everything by mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who repent and follow Your way, and save them from the punishment of the Hellfire, Our Lord and admit them into gardens of Eden which you have promised them, and whoever was righteous among their fathers and their spouses and their offspring, indeed, You are the Almighty, the All-Wise, and save them from the evils, and whoever you save from the evils that day, then indeed, You have bestowed mercy on him, and that is the great success", that is, the Angels who carry the throne of Allah and those who are around the throne glorify with the praise of their Lord by the night and by the day and they never tire of worshipping Him as mentioned in Aya (38) of Surat Fussilat, they believe in Allah, acknowledge His Oneness, and are not arrogant in worshipping Him, they ask forgiveness for the believers, they say to Allah that His mercy encompasses their sins and His knowledge encompasses all their deeds, so they ask forgiveness for those who repent from their disbelief and follow the way of Allah, they ask Allah to save them from the punishment of the Hellfire on the day of resurrection, and to admit them into gardens of Eden which He have promised them, and Eden is one of the names of Paradise, and to bring them together with those who were righteous of their fathers, their spouses, and their offspring, they addresses Allah and says that He is All-Mighty who is Severe in His revenge on those who disobeyed Him, and He is All-Wise who manages His creation with wisdom in His laws and destiny, and they ask Allah to save them from the bad consequence of their evil deeds which they had done in the worldly life where whoever will be saved from the bad consequence on the day of resurrection, he is the one whom Allah have bestowed mercy on Him and that is the great success because he will be saved from Hellfire, and will enter Paradise.

Allah says in the next three verses (10-12) "Indeed, those who disbelieve will be addressed, the hatred of Allah is greater than the hatred of yourselves when you were called to the faith and you disbelieved, they will say Our Lord You gave us death twice and gave us life twice, and we confess our sins so is there any way to get out?, that is because when Allah was called alone, you disbelieve, but if it is associated with Him you believe, so the judgment is to Allah the Most High, the Most Grand", that is, when the infidels enter the Hellfire on the day of resurrection, they will hate themselves because they were the cause of their entering Hellfire as a recompense of their disbelief and evil deeds, so they will be cried out on them that the hatred of Allah for them in the worldly life when they were called to the faith and they turned away and disbelief is greater then their hatred of themselves when they face the punishment of Allah, so they will address their Lord and says that He gave them death twice and gave them life twice, and since they confessed their sins, He is Able to bring them back to the worldly life so they do righteous deeds, and this Aya is Similar to Aya (28) of Surat Albaqarah where Allah affirms that humans were dead in the loins of their fathers and they were nothing until Allah created them in the wombs of their mothers, and He revived them in the worldly life, then He will cause them to die again, and He will revive them again on the day of resurrection. they will ask to return but they will be answered that there is no way to return to the worldly life because their nature does not accept the truth but rather it denies it, and if they were returned they would return to that which they were forbidden as Allah stated in Aya (28) of Surat Alana'am, so they would return to their original nature which does not accept one God where when Allah was called alone, they disbelieve, but if other gods were associated with Him they believe, so they will abide in the Hellfire forever for the Judgement is to Allah, the Most High, the Most Grand who is sublime over everything, and all things are below Him where His authority and His power is over them.

Allah says in the next three verses (13-15) "It is He who shows you His signs and sends down provision for you from the sky, but no one remembers except whoever turns, so call upon Allah, being sincere to Him in religion, even if the disbelievers dislike, the Exalted in degrees, the Possessor of the throne, He places the Spirit of His command upon whomever He wills of His servants to warn of the day of meeting", that is, Allah makes clear His signs in the creation of the heavens, the earth, and humans that indicate His greatness and the perfection of His creation, and He is the One who sends down the rain from the sky which brings forth provision for man and other creatures such as fruits, crops, and vegetables of different colours, tastes, smells, and shapes, but no one remembers and reflects on these things, and infers from them the Greatness of His Creator except whoever turns to the obedience of Allah, so Allah commanded the believers to call upon Him alone, being sincere to Him in religion, and not to associate anything with Him even if the disbelievers hate their worship of Allah, where He is the Exalted in ranks and attributes and the Owner of the throne, and He sends down the Spirit with revelation and prophecy of His command upon whoever He wills of His servants to warn people of the day of Meeting, which is one of the names of the day of resurrection, where people, the first and the last, will meet their Creator on the day of resurrection.

Allah says in the next two verses (16,17) "The day they will come forth, nothing of them is hidden from Allah, to whom belongs the kingdom today?, to Allah, the One, the Oft-omnipotent, today every soul will be recompensed for what it earned, no injustice today, indeed, Allah is swift in reckoning", that is, all people will come forth from the graves on the day of resurrection, and nothing of them will be hidden from Allah, then Allah will say "To whom belongs the kingdom today?", where as narrated by Abu Hurayrah: ''The Prophet said: On the day of resurrection, Allah will hold the whole earth and fold the heaven with His right hand and say ''I am the King, where are the kings of the earth", so no one will answer Him because all creatures are dead then He will answer Himself and will say "To Allah, the One, the Oft-omnipotent", who has no equals and He who conquered everything by His power. Then Allah will announce that every soul will be recompensed for what it has earned whether it was good or evil, and no injustice that day, where nothing will be detracted from the good-doer, and no one shall be punished for a sin he did not commit, where as narrated by Abu Zarr Algifari that Allah's Messenger said: ''Allah says O my servants, it is your deeds, I count for you, and I will repay you, so whoever finds good things, let him thank Allah, and whoever finds otherwise does not blame none but himself" (Sahih Muslim 2577), and Allah is swift in reckoning His servants; because His knowledge encompasses all their affairs.

Allah says in the next three verses (18-20) "And warn them the day of Alazefah when the hearts are at the throats, chocked, for the wrongdoers there will not be intimate friend nor an intercessor to be obeyed, He knows the stealthy glance of the eyes, and what the breasts conceal, and Allah judges with the truth, and those whom they invoke besides Him cannot judge anything, indeed, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing", that is, Allah commanded His Messenger Muhammad (PBUH) to warn the polytheists of Quraish the day of Alazefah, which is one of the names of the day of resurrection, and it is a name that indicates the imminence of its occurrence as mentioned in Aya (57) of Surat Alnajm. On the day of Alazefah, the hearts of the people will be at the throats from the horrors of that day, and  they will be silent where no one will speak except by the permission of Allah, and those who have wronged themselves by associating partners with Allah will not have a close friend who can save them from Allah's punishment nor an intercessor who can intercede for them with Allah. Then Allah confirms that He knows the stealthy glance of the eyes that man hides from those around him, and what his breast conceals even what he says to himself and what he intends by his glance, so Allah knows all their affairs whether they declare or conceal, and then He will judge between them with the truth where no injustice that day as shown above in Aya (17), but the idols whom the polytheists invoke besides Allah can not judge anything that day and can not avail them from the punishment, and Allah is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing, whose hearing and sight encompass everything, and nothing in the heavens nor on the earth is hidden from Him.

Allah says in the next two verses (21,22) "Have they not traveled in the land and see how was the end of those before them?, they were greater than them in might and in traces left on the earth, but Allah seized them for their sins, and they had not any savior against Allah, that is because their Messengers used to come to them with clear proofs, but they disbelieved, so Allah seized them, indeed, He is All-Strong, Severe in punishment", that is, Allah marvels at the fact that they traveled across the land, and saw the torment that Allah had inflicted upon the previous nations though they were greater than them in might and they left on the earth traces and landmarks such as buildings and homes that they were not able to make the like of it, but despite their great power, they disbelieved in Allah and His Messengers, so Allah seized them with a painful torment and they had not any savior besides Allah to save them from Allah's punishment. They deserved that punishment because when their Messengers came to them with clear proofs that indicate the oneness of Allah, they denied it and disbelieved, so Allah punished them with the painful punishment and destroyed them for He is All-Strong and Severe in punishment for those who disbelieve in Him and refuse to submit to Him alone.

Allah says in the next three verses (23-25) "And indeed, We sent Moses with Our signs and a clear authority, to Pharaoh and Haman and Qaruon but they said a magician, a liar, and when He brought them the truth from Us, they said, kill the sons of those who believed with Him, and keep their women alive, but the plot of the disbelievers is not except in error", that is, Allah cites the story of the Prophet Moses with the three arrogant of His people namely Pharaoh the king of Egypt, Haman the minister in the kingdom of Pharaoh, and Qaruon the owner of the treasures and massive wealth, where when Moses came to them with the clear proofs and Allah's signs, which are nine signs as Allah has stated in Surat Alisraa Aya (101), they accused Him with madness and lie, and when Moses came to them with the truth and the conclusive proof that Allah has sent Him to them, Pharaoh ordered his soldiers to kill the sons of those who believed with Moses, and to keep their women alive lest their number increase so they would be supported by the males of their children, but Allah assures that the plot of the disbelievers and their planning against the believers was only in error and destruction for it will turn against them alone.

Allah says in the next two verses (26,27) "And Pharaoh said let me kill Moses and let Him call upon His Lord, indeed, I fear that He will change your religion or that He will cause to appear the corruption in the land, And Moses said indeed, I thought refuge in My Lord and Your Lord from every arrogant who does not believe in the day of reckoning", where the arrogance reached its full extent with Pharaoh and said to His people let me kill Moses and let Him call upon His Lord to save Him from us, and he claimed that he intends to kill Moses because he fears that Moses will change their religion or that he will cause to appear the corruption in the land of Egypt, and when Pharaoh threatened to kill Moses, Moses sought refuge in Allah from every arrogant who does not believe in the day of reckoning, because his disbelief in the day of reckoning leads him to evil and corruption.

Allah says in the next verse (28) "And a believing man from the family of Pharaoh who conceals his faith said Do you kill a man because he says My Lord is Allah and indeed, He has brought you clear proofs from your Lord, and if He is a liar, then His lie is upon Him, and if He is truthful, then some of that of which He promises you will befall you, indeed, Allah does not guide he who is transgressor, a liar", that is, When Pharaoh resolved to kill Moses, a believing man from the family of Pharaoh who concealed his faith rose up and said to Pharaoh and his people "Do you kill a man because he says My Lord is Allah", while He has brought you a clear proofs from your Lord, then he addressed them with the speech of reason and said if Moses is a liar, then His lie is upon Him, and if He is truthful and you hurt Him, then some of the punishment which He promises you will befall you, where Allah does not guide he who is transgressor and a liar, and if Moses was like that, Allah would not guide Him, so leave Him alone, and Moses asked them the same as mentioned in Aya (21) of Surat Aldukhan "But if you do not believe Me, then keep away from Me". This situation is similar to what happened to Our Prophet Muhammad, where as narrated by Urwa Bin Alzubair "I asked Abdullah Bin Amr Bin Alas to inform me of the worst thing the pagans had done to Allah's Messenger (PBUH) he said: While Allah's Messenger was praying in the courtyard of the Ka'bah, Uqba Bin Abi Mu'ait came and seized Allah's Messenger by the shoulder and twisted His garment round His neck and throttled Him severely. Abu Bakr came and seized Uqba's shoulder and threw him away from Allah's Messenger and said " Do you kill a man because he says My Lord is Allah and indeed, He has brought you clear proofs from your Lord".

Allah states in the next verse (29) that the believing man said to his people "O my people! the kingdom is yours today, dominant on the earth, but who will help us from the punishment of Allah if it came to us? Pharaoh said I do not show you except what I see, and I do not guide you except to the right path", that is, the believing man warned his people that Allah's grace would be gone from them and Allah's vengeance will befall them if they do not believe in Him, though the kingdom is theirs and they are dominant on the earth, but if Allah's punishment came to them, nothing will avail them from that punishment, but Pharaoh insisted on his disbelief and arrogance and said to his people "I do not show you except what I see, and I do not guide you except to the right path", he sought that he guides them to the path of the truth and guidance but he misled them as Allah has stated in Aya (79) of Surat Taha "And Pharaoh led his people astray and did not guide them".

The believing man continues to advice his people in the next four verses (30-33) and says "And he who believed said O my people! indeed, I fear for you like the day of the factions, Like the state of the people of Noah and Ad and Thamud and those after them, and Allah does not intend injustice for the servants, and O my people! indeed, I fear for you the day of Altanad, A day you will turn back fleeing, having no protector from Allah, and whoever Allah lets go astray, then there is no guide for him", that is, the believing man warned his people from Allah's punishment in the worldly life and in the Hereafter; he warned them that the punishment would befall them in the worldly life just as it befell the factions before them such as the people of the Prophet Noah, Ad (The people of the Prophet Hud), Thamud (The people of the Prophet Saleh), and those before them, where Allah had destroyed them for their sins, their denial, and their disbelief where Allah does not want injustice for His servants, then he warned them from Allah's punishment in the Hereafter on the day of Altanad (Calling), which is the day of resurrection, where they will flee from the punishment of Hellfire, they will not find any shelter other than the Hellfire, and they will not find any protector from Allah to save them from that punishment, and whoever Allah lets go astray from the path of guidance, then there is no guide for him.

Allah says in the next two verses (34,35) "And Joseph came to you before with clear proofs, but you remained in doubt about what He brought to you, until when He died, you said Allah will never send a Messenger after Him, thus Allah lets go astray he who is transgressor, a doubter, those who argue in the signs of Allah without an authority that has come to them, it is greatly hateful with Allah and with those who believe, thus, Allah seals the heart of every arrogant, tyrant" that is, Allah has sent to the people of Egypt His Messenger Joseph with a clear proofs, but they were in doubt about what He brought to them just like they are with the Prophet Moses, and they did not obey their Messenger Joseph, and when He died, they said that Allah will never send a Messenger after Him, so Allah lets astray he who is transgressor and a doubter of His oneness, and of the clear proofs of His Messengers. Then Allah confirms that those who argue in the signs of Allah and refute the truth with falsehood without evidence and an authority that has come to them, it is greatly hateful in the sight of Allah and the believers also hate those who have these characteristics, and thus Allah sets a seal on the heart of every arrogant and tyrant, so that it does not accept the truth and the guidance does not reach it, where the heart is a metaphor for the person; because it is the source of arrogance and tyranny and the rest of organs follow it.

Allah says in the next two verses (36,37) "And Pharaoh said o Haman! build for me a tower so that I may reach the ways, the ways to the heavens so I may look at the God of Moses, and indeed, I think that He is a liar, and thus, it was beautified to Pharaoh the evil of his deeds, and He was prevented from the way, and the plot of Pharaoh is not except in loss", that is, Pharaoh continued in his arrogance and rebellion as he ordered his minister Haman to build him a lofty tower from the bricks of clay as mentioned in Aya (38) of Surat Alqasas, so that he may reach the ways of the heavens in order to look at the God of Moses, because he thought that Moses is a liar, and He has no God, and thus it was beautified to Pharaoh the evil of his deeds; because he deluded his people by claiming that he was doing something that would lead him to refute the truth that Moses brought to them, but Allah confirms that the plot of Pharaoh in looking at the God of Moses was nothing but loss, destruction and waste of money.

The believing man from the family of Pharaoh is still addressing his people in the next three verses (38-40) "And he who believed said O my people! follow me, I will guide you to the right path, O my people! this worldly life is only an enjoyment, and indeed, the Hereafter is the abode of stability, whoever does an evil deed will not be recompensed except by the like of it, and whoever does righteousness of male or female while he is a believer, then those will enter Paradise, they will be provided in it without account", that is, the believing man commanded his people to follow him so that he would show them the right path that Moses brought and not to follow the path of Pharaoh who claimed that it is the right path as shown above in Aya (29), then he assures them that the worldly life is nothing but enjoyment and it will be gone soon, and only the abode of stability in the Hereafter will remain, where there is no transition from it, and it is either bliss or hell, where no injustice that day, so whoever does evil deeds in the worldly life will not be recompensed except by the like of it, and whoever does righteous deeds of male or female while he is a believer, then he will enter Paradise, and Allah will provide him from its fruits, blessings, and pleasures without account.

The believing man continues to address his people in the next four verses (41-44) "And O my people! what is for me that I call you to salvation and you call me to the fire?, you call me to disbelieve in Allah and associate with Him that of which I have no knowledge, and I call you to the Almighty, the Oft-Forgiving, No doubt that what you call me to it, has no response in the worldly life nor in the Hereafter, and that our return is to Allah, and indeed that the transgressors are the companions of the fire, And you will remember what I say to you, and I entrust my affair to Allah, indeed, Allah is All-Seeing of the servants", that is, the believing man said to his people What is wrong with him that he invites them to salvation which is the worship of Allah alone who has no partner and to believe in His Messenger Moses, while they are invite him to the Hellfire where they call him to disbelieve in Allah, and to associate others with him without knowledge; because Allah did not authorize the worship of others, but he knows Allah well, so he called them to the Almighty who is Severe in His revenge on those who disobeyed Him but at the same time He is Oft-Forgiving who forgives those who repent, believe, and do righteous deeds. Then he assured them that what they invite him to worship does not benefit nor harm besides Allah, and they will not respond to them in the worldly life nor in the Hereafter where they are unaware of their invokes as Allah has stated in Aya (5) of Surat Alahqaf, then He also assured them that their return is to Allah in the Hereafter and He will recompense everyone for his deeds, and surely the transgressors will be the companions of Hellfire. Then he threatened them that they will know the truth of what he commanded them and of what he forbade them, and they will regret when the regret does not benefit them, and then he entrusted his affair to Allah and Allah is All-Seeing of the servants so He guides those who deserve guidance and misleads those who deserve to be misled.

Allah says in the next two verses (45,46) "So Allah saved him from the evils that they plotted, and the people of Pharaoh have been encircled by the worst punishment, the fire, they will be exposed to it morning and evening, and the day when the Hour will be established, Enter the people of Pharaoh in the severest punishment", that is, Allah saved the believing man from the evils that they plotted for those who disagreed with them, where as mentioned in surat Alshuaraa Ayat (61-66), Allah commanded His Messenger Moses to strike the sea with His staff, so the sea parted, and each portion wa like a great towering mountain, and Allah saved Moses and the believers, and when Pharaoh and his people pursued them, Allah commanded the sea to return to its nature, and then He drowned them all in it. Drowning in the sea was the torment of the body, then followed by the torment of the soul in the grave where the souls of Pharaoh and his people are exposed to the Hellfire morning and evening until the day of resurrection, and Our Prophet (PBUH) said in narration of Abdullah Bin Umar: "When anyone of you dies, he is shown his place both in the morning and in the evening, if he is one of the people of Paradise; he is shown his place in it, and if he is from the people of the Hellfire; he is shown his place therein, then it is said to him, this is your place till Allah will resurrect you on the day of resurrection" (Sahih Albukhari 1379). So Pharaoh and His people see their place in Hellfire till the day of resurrection, and then their souls will return to their bodies and they will be tormented in the most severe punishment in the Hellfire.

Allah says in the next two verses (47,48) "And when they will dispute in the fire, then the weak will say to those who were arrogant, we were followers for you, so Would you relieve from us a share of the fire?, those who were arrogant will say, indeed we all are in it, indeed, Allah has judged between the servants", that is, the companions of Hellfire will quarrel with each other in Hellfire where the followers who were the weak in the worldly life will say to their leaders who were arrogant, that they obeyed them in what they called to of disbelief and misguidance, so Will they relieve from them a portion of the fire to be added to their share of it, but their leaders will say to them we will not bear anything on your behalf, indeed, we are all in the Hellfire, enough for us what we have, and what we face of punishment, and Allah has judged between the servants so He has divided between us the torment as much as each of us deserves.

Allah says in the next two verses (49,50) "And those who are in the fire will say to the wardens of Hellfire, pray to your Lord to lighten for us a day of the punishment, they will say, Did not your Messengers came to you with clear proofs?, they will say yes, they will say then supplicate, but the supplication of the disbelievers is not except in error", that is, Allah does not respond to the supplication of the companions of Hellfire, so they will ask the keepers of the Hellfire, who are nineteen as mentioned in Surat Almuddaththir Aya (30), to pray to Allah to lighten the punishment from them even for one day, but the keepers of Hellfire will say to them Did not your Messengers came to you with clear proofs that indicate the oneness of Allah in order to believe in Him and to disavow of your gods that you worshipped?, so they will say yes our Messengers came to us with that, so the keepers will say to them Supplicate for yourselves, and whether you supplicate or not, you will not be answered, and the punishment will not be lightened for you, for the supplication of the disbelievers is not except in error, it will not be accepted nor will be responded.

Allah says in the next four verses (51-54) "Indeed, We will help Our Messengers and those who believe in the worldly life, and the day when the witnesses will stand, the day when the excuse of the wrongdoers will not benefit them, and for them is the curse and for them is the worst abode, and indeed, We had given Moses the guidance and made the children of Israel to inherit the book, A guidance and a reminder for those of understanding", that is, Allah confirms that He helps His Messengers and those who believe in Him in the worldly life  by destroying their enemies or by defeating their enemies, and on the day of resurrection when the witnesses will stand to witness the reckoning, Allah will help His Messengers and those who believe by the eternal bliss in the Paradise, but as for the wrongdoers, no excuse or ransom will be accepted from them, and for them is the curse and the expulsion from Allah's mercy, and for them the worst abode which is Hellfire, abiding therein forever. Allah had helped His Messenger Moses and those who believe with Him by destroying Pharaoh and his people, and they inherited their land and their wealth, then Allah had given Moses the guidance and made the children of Israel to inherit the Torah which is a guidance for them regarding the affairs of their religion and a reminder for those with sound right minds who understand and give reason.

Allah addresses His Messenger Muhammad in the next two verses (55,56) and says "So Be patient, indeed, the promise of Allah is true, and Ask forgiveness for your sin and Glorify with the praise of Your Lord in the evening and in the morning, Indeed those who argue in the signs of Allah without an authority that has come to them, there is nothing in their breasts but greatness, which they can not reach, so seek refuge in Allah, indeed, He is the All-hearing, the All-seeing", that is, Allah commanded His Messenger to be patient with the harm of His people, where the promise of Allah is truth, and He will support Him and those who believe with Him in the worldly life and in the Hereafter, then Allah commanded Him to seek forgiveness for His sins, and that was before Allah has forgiven His past and future sins as mentioned in Surat Alfath Aya (2); Because Surat Ghafir was revealed in Mecca, and Surat Alfath was revealed after it in Madinah, and then Allah commanded Him to glorify with the praise of Allah in the evening and in the morning by saying "Subhana Allahi wa behadehi: Glory to be Allah, and praise be to Him", and Allah's Messenger (PBUH) said in narration of Abu Hurayrah: "Whoever says "Subhana Allahi wa behadehi: Glory to be Allah, and praise be to Him" one hundred times a day, will be forgiven all his sins even if they were as much as the foam of the sea" (Sahih Albukhari 6405). Then Allah confirms that those who argue in the signs of Allah and refute the truth with falsehood without evidence and an authority that has come to them, there is nothing in their breasts but greatness that keeps them away from following the truth, and they will not reach that greatness because Allah will humiliate them, so Allah commanded His Messenger to seek refuge in him from such people, and indeed, Allah is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing, whose hearing and sight encompass everything, and nothing of their affair is hidden from Him.

Allah says in the next three verses (57-59) "Indeed, the creation of the heavens and the earth is greater than the creation of mankind, but most of people do not know, and the blind and the seeing are not equal, and nor those who believe and do righteous deeds and the evil-doer, little is what you remember, Indeed, the Hour is coming, no doubt in it, but most of people do not believe", that is, Allah confirms that the creation of the heavens and the earth is greater than the creation of mankind, beginning and repeating, but most of people do not know, where if they reflect they would know that Allah who created the heavens and the earth is Able to give life to the dead as Allah has stated in Surat Alahqaf Aya (33), so Allah confirms that just as the blind and the seeing are not equal, likewise the believer and the infidel, rather there is a great difference between them because little is what they remember; for the believer is the seeing who sees the signs of Allah, so he reflects on them and knows what they indicate of the greatness of Allah, but as for the infidel, he is the blind who does not see anything, and does not contemplate the signs of Allah with his eyes, so he does not reflect on them and does not know Allah's ability to create whatever He wills. Then Allah confirms that the day of resurrection (the Hour) will inevitably happen, and there is no doubt about its occurrence, but most of people do not believe in it and deny its arrival.

Allah say in the next three verses (60-62) "And Your Lord said, call upon Me, I will respond to you, indeed, those who are too arrogant to worship Me will enter Hellfire, humiliated, Allah is the One who has made for you the night so that you may rest therein, and the day giving light, indeed, Allah is Possessor of bounty to the people, but most of people do not give thanks, That is Allah, your Lord, the Creator of all thing, there is no god but He, so how are you being turned away?", that is, Allah commands His servants to supplicate Him, and He promises them that He will respond to their supplication, and since man knows that there is no God but Allah, he will acknowledge His oneness and will seek refuge in Him alone, so the supplication is the worship as narrated by Alnu'man Bin bashir: "The Prophet said supplication is the worship then He recited: "And Your Lord said, call upon Me, I will respond to you, indeed, those who are too arrogant to worship Me will enter Hellfire, humiliated", thereupon, Allah affirms that those who were too arrogant to worship Him and to supplicate Him will enter the Hellfire and will be humiliated. Then Allah shows that the worship is not suitable for anyone else, where He is the One who made the night in which man rest from the hardship of seeking livelihood during the day, and He is the One who made the day luminous so that man can see and work in order to fulfill his needs, and Allah is the Possessor of bounty to the people, but most of them do not give thanks for His bounty and blessings upon them, that is Allah, the Lord of the worlds, the Creator of everything, there is no God but He, so How the infidels turned away and associated idols with Him, which do not create any thing, and do not benefit nor harm.

Allah says in the next three verses (63-65) "Thus were being turned away those who used to reject the signs of Allah, Allah is the One who made for you the earth a settlement, and the sky a building, and He formed you, then He perfected your forms and provided you of the good things, that is Allah your Lord, then blessed is Allah, the Lord of the worlds, He is the Ever-Living, there is no God but He, So call upon Him, being sincere to Him in religion, praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds", that is, just as the infidels of Quraish went astray by worshipping other than Allah, so did those before them, where they denied the signs and the proofs that Allah sent His Messengers with, and worshiped other than Him without evidence or clear proof, therefore, Allah confirms again that He is worthy of worship for He is the One who made the earth a settlement so that man can live above it, and move wherever he wants, He raised the sky without pillars we can see, He formed man then He created him in the most perfect form, and He provided man of the good things of food and drink, so that is Allah your Lord, the only One who created the earth, the sky, mankind, and the provision, so blessed is He, the Lord of the worlds, and he is the Ever-Living, there is no God but He, so He commanded the believers for the second time, as in Aya (14) above, to call upon Him alone, being sincere to Him in religion, and the praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds and the Creator of everything.

Allah says in the next three verses (66-68) "Say I have been forbidden to worship those whom you invoke besides Allah when the clear proofs have come to me from My Lord, and I have been commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds, He is the One who created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging blood, then He brings you out as a child, then you reach you maturity then you become old, and some of you die before and so that you reach an appointed term, and so that you may understand, He is the One who gives life and causes death, and when He decrees a matter, He only says to it Be, and it comes to be", that is, Allah commanded His Messenger Muhammad (PBUH) to say to the polytheists of Quraish that Allah forbade him from worshipping the idols whom they worshipped besides Allah when the clear proofs that indicate His oneness have come to Him, and that He had been commanded to submit to Him alone by obedience where He is the Lord of the worlds, then Allah confirms for the third time that He is worthy of worship for He is the One who created Adam from dust, then He made the creation of His offspring from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging blood in the wombs of their mothers, then He brings them out of the wombs as a children through childbirth, then they reach their maturity when their physical and mental strength is completed in the stage of adulthood, then they become old and their strength begins to decline little by little, and some of them die before reaching the old age, and so that they reach an appointed term for their lives and face death, so that they may understand Allah's signs and may know that there is no God but Him who do that, where He is the only One who gives life and causes death, and when He decrees a matter, he only says to it Be, and it comes to be as nothing refuses to obey His commands, and whatever He wills will inevitably happen.

Allah says in the next four verses (69-72) "Do You not see those who argue in the signs of Allah, so how are they being turned away?, those who deny the book, and what We sent Our Messengers with it, so they will know, when the shackles are around their necks and the chains, they will be dragged, In boiling water, then in the fire, they will be burned", that is, Allah addresses His Messenger and says to Him Do you not marvel at those who deny the signs of Allah and argue in the truth with falsehood, how their minds divert from guidance to error. They are those who deny the Holy Quran, and what Allah sent His Messengers with of guidance and truth, so Allah threatens them that they will know on the day of resurrection, when the shackles will be around their necks and the chains, and the wardens of Hellfire will drag them in the boiling water then in the Hellfire where they will be burned therein, and they will continue to do so once in the boiling water and once in the Hellfire as mentioned in Ayat (43,44) of Surat Alrahman "This is Hellfire which the criminals deny, they will circle between it and boiling water".

Allah says in the next four verses (73-76) "Then it will be said to them, Where are those whom you used to associate?, besides Allah, they will say, they are lost from us, but we did not invoke anything before, thus, Allah lets the disbelievers go astray, that was because you used to rejoice on the earth without right, and because you used to transgress, Enter the gates of the Hellfire to abide therein, so wretched is the abode of the arrogant", that it, it will be said to the polytheists as a reprimand on the day of resurrection, Where are the idols and false gods that you used to worship besides Allah, Will they help you today?, so they will say that they went away and left them in the torment, and they will claim that they did not invoke anything besides Allah in the worldly life, and this is similar to Ayat (22,23) of Surat Alana'am where they will say "By Allah, our Lord, we were not those who associated", and thus Allah lets the disbelievers go astray, so they will not find any refuge from Allah's punishment, thereupon, it will be said to them that they deserved the torment because they used to rejoice on the earth without right, and because they used to transgress out of their disbelief in Allah and their denial of the day of resurrection, so it will be said to them Enter the gates of the Hellfire, which are seven gates as Allah has stated in Aya (44) of Surat Alhijr, and they will abide therein forever, so wretched is the abode in which there is humiliation and severe punishment for those who were arrogant to follow the truth from their Lord.

Allah says in the next two verses (77,78) "So be patient, indeed, the promise of Allah is true, so whether We show You some of what We have promised them or We take You in death, then to Us they will be returned, and indeed, We sent Messengers before You, among them those whom We have narrated to You, and among them those whom We have not narrated to You, and it was not for a Messenger that He brings a sign without the permission of Allah, so when the command of Allah comes it will be judged in truth and there the adherent of falsehood will lose", that is, Allah addresses His Messenger (PBUH) and commanded Him to be patient with the harm of His people for the second time as in Aya (55) Above, where the promise of Allah is truth, and He will support Him and those who believe with Him in the worldly life and in the Hereafter, so whether Allah shows His Messenger some of what He has promised them of torment in the worldly life or He causes His Messenger to die before that, they will be returned to Him on the day of resurrection, and He will punish them with a severe punishment where He is a witness concerning what they are doing as mentioned in Aya (46) of Surat Yunus. Then Allah assures His Messenger that He sent many Messengers before Him, and He have revealed to Him the story of some of them with their people, but among them those whom Allah have not revealed to Him, and it was not for one of them to bring anything supernatural to His people unless Allah permits Him to do so, where it was not due His ability, but rather through Allah's will and ability, and when the command of Allah of their torment comes it will be judged with justice which is that Allah saves His Messengers and those who believed with them, and destroys the disbelievers who were the adherent of falsehood.

Allah says in the next three verses (79-81) "Allah is the One who made for you the cattle so that you may ride on some of them, and you eat some of them, and for you therein are benefits, and so that you may reach a need in your breasts, and upon them and upon the ships you are carried, and He shows you His signs, so which of the signs of Allah will you deny?", that is, Allah confirms for the fourth time that He is worthy of worship for He is the One who has created the livestock for man, which are camels, cows, and sheep and He has subjected the livestock for man, so he rides on some of them like camels, and eats from some of them like camels, cows and sheep, and there are many benefits for man in them like meat, milk, cheese, butter, wool and so on, so he fulfills his need for food, drink, tilling the land, furniture, and clothes, and he fulfills other needs in carrying weights and traveling, where the camels carry his loads to a land he could not has reached except with difficulty to himself as Allah has stated in Surat Alnahl Aya (7), so the camel carry man on the land and the ships carry them on the sea, so Allah shows His signs to man during his travels , then He asked him as a denunciation "Which of the signs of Allah will you deny".

Allah says in the next two verses (82,83) "Have they not traveled in the land and see how was the end of those before them, they were more numerous than them and they were greater in might and in traces left on the earth, so they were not availed by what they used to earn, and when their Messengers came to them with clear proofs, they rejoiced in what they had of knowledge, so they have been encircled by what they used to ridicule it", that is, Allah marvels at the fact that they traveled across the land, and saw the torment that Allah had inflicted upon the previous nations though they were more numerous than them, they were greater than them in might, and they left in the earth traces and landmarks such as buildings and homes that they were not able to make the like of it, but what they collected of wealth and left of traces did not avail them from Allah's punishment, that is because when their Messengers came to them with clear proofs and arguments, they turned away, and rejoiced in what they had of knowledge, which in reality was ignorance, where they were surrounded by what they used to mock of Allah's torment.

Allah says in the last two verses (84,85) "And when they saw our punishment, they said, we believe in Allah alone, and we disbelieve in what we used to associate with Him, but their faith did not benefit them when they saw Our punishment, the rule of Allah that has passed among His servants, and there the disbelievers will lose", that is, when the disbelievers saw Allah's punishment that their Messengers had promised them, they acknowledged the monotheism of Allah, believed in Him alone and they disavowed the idols that they used to associate with Allah, but their faith did not benefit them when they saw the torment because Allah did not accept their repentance in that case where the rule of Allah that has passed among His servants is that the repentance will not be accepted at the time of death or on the day of resurrection, and that the believers will lose the worldly life and the Hereafter as they did not gain anything from the worldly life, and a painful torment awaits them in the Hereafter.
