 39- Surat Alzumar

75 Verses Meccan (revealed in Mecca)

A'auzu Bellahi mena alshaiytani alrajeem

I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan

Bismi Ellahi Alrhmani Alraheem

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Tanzeeluo alketabi mena Allahi Alazeezi Alhakeem (1)
The revelation of the book is from Allah, the All-mighty, the All-Wise.

Inna anzalna elaika alketaba bel-haqqi fa'bdi ellha mukhlesan lahu alddin (2).
Indeed, We have revealed the book to you with truth, so worship Allah, being sincere to Him in the religion.

Ala lellahi alddinuo alkhalesuo wa allazina ettakhazu men duonehi awliyaa ma na'buduhum ella le-youqarrebuona ela Allahi zulfa inna Allaha yahkumuo baiynahum fee ma hum fehi yakhtalefuon inna Allaha la yahdi man huwa kazebun kaffar (3).
Unquestionably, the pure religion belongs to Allah, and those who take protectors besides Allah, we only worship them so that they may bring us close to Allah in status, indeed, Allah will judge between them in that over which they differ, indeed, Allah does not guide he who is a liar, a severe disbeliever.

Laww arada Allahu an yatakhezza waladan las-tafa memma yakhluquo ma yasha-uoo subhanahuo huwa Allahu Alwaheduo Alqahhar (4).
If Allah had intended to take a son, He would have chosen from what He had created whatever He willed, glory to be Him, the One, the Oft-omnipotent.

Khalaqa alsamawati wa alarda bel-haqqi yuokawweruo al-laila ala alnahari wa youkawweruo alnahara ala al-laili wa sakhkhara alshamsa wa alqamara kullun yajree le-ajalin musamman ala huwa Alazeezu Alghaffar (5).
He created the heavens and the earth with the truth, He wraps the night over the day and He wraps the day over the night, and He subjected the sun and the moon, each running for an appointed time, unquestionably, He is the Almighty, the Oft-forgiving.

Khalaqakum men nafsin wahedatin thumma ja'ala menha zawjaha wa anzala lakum mena alana'mi thamaneiyata azwajin yakhluqukum fee butuoni aummahatekum khalqan men ba'di khalqin fee zulumatin thalathin zalekumuo Allahu Rabbukum lahu almulkuo la illaha ella huwa fa-anna tousrafuon (6).
He created you from one soul, then He made from it its spouse, then He sent down for you eight pairs of the cattle, He creates you in the wombs of your mothers, creation after creation, in three darknesses, that is Allah, your Lord, to Him belongs the kingdom, there is no god but He, so how are you being turned away?.

In takfuruo fa-inna Allaha ghaniyyun ankum wa la yarda le-ebadehi alkufra wa in tashkuruo yardahuo lakum wa la tazeruo wazeratun wezra aukhra, thumma ela Rabbekum marje-ukum fa-younabbe-ukum bema kuntum ta'maluona innahuo aleemun be-zati alsuduor (7).
If you disbelieve, indeed then, Allah is Free of need of you, and He does not like disbelief for His servants, and if you give thanks, He likes it for you, and no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another, then to your Lord is your return, then He will inform you of what you used to do, indeed, He is All-Knower of what is in the breasts.

Wa iza massa alinsana durrun da-a Rabbahu muneeban elaiyhi thumma iza khawwalahuo ne'matan menhu naseiya ma kana yad-uo elaiyhi men qabluo wa ja'ala lellahi andadan le-youdella an sabeelehi qul tamatt' be-kufreka qaleelan innaka men as-habi alnar (8).
And when an adversity touches man, he calls his Lord, oft-returning to Him, then, when He bestows upon him a favor from himself, he forgets what he used to call him before, and he makes equals to Allah, so that he leads astray from His way, Say, Enjoy of your disbelief for a little, indeed, you are of the companions of the Fire.

Am-man huwa qanetun ana-a al-laili sajedan wa qa-eman yahzaruo alakherata wa yarjuo rahmata Rabbehi qul hal yastawee allazina ya'lamuona wa allazina la ya'lamuona innama yatazakkaruo auluo al-albab (9).
Is he who is obedient during the night, prostrating and standing, fearing the Hereafter, and hoping the mercy of His Lord, Say, are equal those who know and those who do not know, only those of understanding will remember.

Qul ya-ebadi allazina amanuo ettaquo Rabbakum le-llazina ahsanuo fee hazehi alduonya hasanatun wa arduo Allahi wase-atun innama youwaffa alsaberuona ajrahum beghaiyri hesab (10).
Say, O My servants who believe! fear your Lord, for those who do good in this world is good, and the earth of Allah is spacious, certainly, those who are patient will be given their reward in full without account.

Qul inni aumertuo an a'abuda Allaha mukhlesan lahu alddin (11).
Say, I have been commanded to worship Allah, being sincere to Him in the religion.

Wa aumertuo le-an akuna awwala almuslemeen (12).
And I have been commanded to be the first of the Muslims.

Qul inni akhafuo in asaiytuo Rabbi azaba yawmin azeem (13).
Say, I fear if I disobey My Lord, the punishment of a great day.

Quli ellaha a'abuduo mukhlesan lahuo deeni (14).
Say, Allah whom I worship, being sincere to Him in My religion.

Fa'buduo ma she'tum men dounehi qul inna alkhasereena allazina khaseruo anfusahum wa ahleehim yawma alqeiyamati ala zaleka huwa alkhusranuo almubeen (15).
So worship what you wills besides Him, Say, indeed, the losers are those who will lose themselves and their families on the day of resurrection, unquestionably, that is the clear loss.

Lahum men fawqehim zulalun mena alnari wa men tahtehim zulalun zaleka youkawwefuo Allahu behi ebadahu ya-ebadi fa-ttaquon (16).
For them, shadows of the Fire from above them, and shadows from below them, that is which Allah threatens with it His servants, O My servants! so Fear Me.

Wa allazina ejtanabuo altaghuta an ya'buduha wa anabuo ela Allahi lahumuo albushra fa-bashshir ebad (17).
And those who avoid the false gods lest they worship them, and turn to Allah, for them are the glad tidings, so Give glad tidings to My servants.

Allazina yastame-uona alqawla fa-yattabe-uona ahsanahuo aulaeka allazina hadahumu Allahu wa aulaeka hum auluo al-albab (18).
Those who listen the saying then they follow the best of it, those are the ones whom Allah has guided, and those are the ones of understanding.

Afa-man haqqa alaiyhi kalematuo alazabi afa-anta tuonqezuo man fee alnar (19).
Then is he who upon him the word of punishment has come true, then can You save he who is in the Fire?.

Lakeni allazina ettaqaww Rabbahum lahum ghurafun men fawqeha ghurafun mabneiyyatun tajree men tahteha al-anharuo wa'da Allahi la youkhlefuo Allahu almee-ad (20).
But those who fear their Lord, for them chambers, above them chambers built high, beneath which rivers flow, the promise of Allah, Allah does not break the promise.

A-lam tara anna Allaha anzala mena alsama-ee ma-an fa-salakahuo yanabee-a fee alardi thumma youkhreju behi zar-an mukhtalefan alwanuhuo thumma yaheejuo fa-tarahuo musfarran thumma yaj'aluhuo hutaman inna fee zaleka zekra le-auli al-albab (21)
Do You not see that Allah sends down water from the sky, then He makes it flow as springs in the earth, then He brings forth with it plants of various colors, then it withers, and you can see it turning yellow, then He makes it debris, indeed, in that a reminder for those of understanding.

Afa-man sharaha Allahu sadrahuo lel-eslami fa-huwa ala noorin men Rabbehi fa-wailun lel-qaseiyati qulubuhum men zekri ellahi aulaeka fee dalalin mubeen (22).
Then is he who Allah has expanded his breast for Islam, so he is upon a light from his Lord, so woe to those whose hearts are hardened from the remembrance of Allah, those are in a clear error.

Allahu nazzala ahsana alhadeethi ketaban mutashabehan mathaneiya taqsha-erruo menhu juluduo allazina yakhshawna Rabbahum thumma taleenuo juluduhum wa qulubuhum ela zekri ellahi zaleka huda Allahi yahdi behi man yasha-uo wa man youdleli ellahu fa-ma lahuo men had (23).
Allah has sent down the best statement, a book, similar, oft-repeated, the skins of those who fear their Lord shiver from it, then their skins and their hearts become soft towards the remembrance of Allah, that is the guidance of Allah, by which He guides whom He wills, and whoever Allah lets go astray, then there is no guide for him.

Afa-man yattaqi be-wajhehi su-a alazabi yawma alqeiyamati wa qeela lel-zalemeena zuquo ma kuntum taksebuon (24).
Then is he who shields with his face the worst of the punishment on the day of resurrection, and it will be said to the wrongdoers, Taste what you used to earn.

Kazzaba allazina men qablehim fa-atahumuo alazabuo men haiythuo la yash-uruon (25)
Those before them denied, so the punishment came upon them from where they do not perceive.

Fa-azaqahumuo Alahu alkhezya fee alhayati aldounya wa la-azabuo alakherati akbaruo laww kanuo ya'lamuon (26)
So Allah made them taste the disgrace in the worldly life, and certainly, the punishment of the Hereafter is greater if only they knew.

Wa laqad darabna lel-nasi fee haza alqurani men kulli mathalin la-allahum yatazakkaruon (27).
And indeed, We have cited for the people in this Quran from every example so that they may remember.

Quranan arabiyyan ghaiyra zee ewajin la'allahum yattaquon (28).
An Arabic Quran that has no crookedness so that they may fear.

Daraba Allahu mathalan rajulan feehi shuraka-uo mutashakesuona wa rajulan salaman le-rajulin hal yastawiyani mathalan alhamduo lellahi bel aktharuhum la ya'lamuon (29).
Allah has cited an example, a man owned by quarreling partners, and a man exclusively owned by one man, are they both equal in comparison?, praise be to Allah, but most of them do not know.

Innaka mayyitun wa innahum mayyituon (30).
Indeed You are to die, and indeed, they are to die.

Thumma innakum yawma alqeiyamati enda Rabbikum takhtasemuon (31).
Then, indeed, you on the day of resurrection will dispute before your Lord.

Fa-man azlamuo memman kazaba ala Allahi wa kazzaba bel-sedqi iz ja'ahuo a-laiytha fee jahannama mathwan lel-kafereen (32).
Then who is more unjust than he who lies against Allah, and denies the truth when it has come to him, Is there not in Hellfire an abode for the disbelievers?.

Wa allazi ja'a bel-sedqi wa saddaqa behi aulaeka humuo almuttaquon (33).
And the one who brought the truth and believed in it, those are the righteous.

Lahum ma yasha-uona enda Rabbehim zaleka jaza-uo almuhseneen (34).
For them whatever they will with their Lord, that is the reward of the good doers.

Le-youkaffera Allahu anhum aswa-a allazi ameluo wa yajzeiyahum ajrahum be-ahsani allazi kanuo ya'maluon (35).
That Allah will remove from them the worst of what they did, and will give them their reward for the best of what they used to do.

A-laiytha Allahu be-kafin andahuo wa youkhawwifunaka bellazina men dounehi wa man youdleli ellahu fa ma lahuo men had (36).
Is not Allah Sufficient for His servant, and they are frightening you of those besides Him, and whoever Allah lets go astray, then there is no guide for him.

Wa man yahdi ellahu fa ma lahu men mudellin a-laiytha Allahu be-azeezin zee enteqam (37).
And whoever Allah guides, for him there is no misleader, Is not Allah Almighty, the Possessor of vengeance.

Wala-in sa'altahum man qalakha alsamawati wa alarda la-yaqulunna Allahu, qul afa-ra'aytum ma tad-uona men duoni ellahi in aradaneiya Allahu be-durrin hal hunna kashefatuo durrehi aww aradani be-rahmatin hal hunna mumsekatuo rahmatehi qul hasbeiya Allahu alaiyhi yatawakkaluo almutawakkiluon (38).
And If You ask them Who created the heavens and the earth, they would say, Allah, Say then, Do you see what you invoke besides Allah, if Allah intended a harm for Me, Are they removers of His harm, or if He intends a mercy for Me, Are they able to withhold His mercy? Say Allah is Sufficient for Me, upon Him rely those who trust.

Qul ya-qawmi e'maluo ala makanatekum inni amelun fa-sawfa ta'lamuon (39).
Say, O My people! Do at your position, indeed, I am doing, but you will know.

Man ya'tehi azabun youkhzehi wa yahelluo alaiyhi azabun muqeem (40).
To whom will come a torment disgracing him, and a constant punishment descends on him.

Inna anzalna alaiyka alketaba lel-nasi bel-haqqi fa-mani ehtada fa-lenafsehi wa man dalla fa-innama yadelluo alaiyha wa ma anta alaiyhim be-wakeel (41).
Indeed, We have sent down to You the book for the people with truth, so whoever is guided, then it is for himself, and whoever goes astray, then only he goes astray against it, and You are not in charge of them.

Allahu yatawaffa al-anfusa heena mawteha wa allati lam tamut fee manameha fa-youmsekuo allati qada alaiyha almawta wa yourseluo al-aukhra ela ajalin musamman inna fee zaleka la-ayatin le-qawmin yatafakkaruon (42).
Allah takes the souls at the time of their death, and those who do not die in their sleep, then He holds those upon whom He has decreed death, and sends the others to an appointed term, indeed, in that are signs for a people who give thought.

Ami ettakhazuo men duoni ellahi shufaa-a qul awa-laww kanuo la yamlekuona shaiy-an wa la ya'qeluon (43)
Or have they taken intercessors besides Allah, Say even though they do not possess anything, nor do they understand?.

Qul lellahi alshafa-atuo jamee-an lahu mulkuo alsamawati wa alardi thumma elaiyhi tuorja-uon (44).
Say, To Allah belongs the intercession, entirely, to Him the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, then to Him you will be returned.

Wa iza zukera Allahu wahdahuo eshma-azzat qulubuo allazina la you'menuona bel-akherati wa iza zukera allazina men duonehi iza hum yastabsheruon (45)
And when Allah is mentioned alone, the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter are disgusted, and when those besides Him are mentioned, behold! they rejoice.

Quli ellahumma fatera alsamawati wa alardi alema alghaiybi wa alshahadati anta tahkumu baiyna ebadeka fee ma kanuo feehi yakhtalefuon (46).
Say O Allah! the Originator of the heavens and the earth, the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, You will judge between Your servants in that about which they used to differ.

Wa laww anna lellazina zalamuo ma fee alardi jamee-an wa methlahuo ma'ahuo laf-tadaww behi men su-ee alazabi yawma alqeiyamati wa bada lahum mena Allahi ma lam yakunuo yahtasebuon (47).
And if those who have wronged had whatever is on the earth, all, and its like with it, they would ransom thereby from the worst of the punishment on the day of resurrection, and will appear to them from Allah what they did not expect.

Wa bada lahum sayyi-atuo ma kasabuo wa haqa behim ma kanuo behi yastahze-uon (48).
And the evil of what they earned will appear to them, so they have been encircled by what they used to ridicule it.

Fa-iza massa alinsana durrun da-ana thumma iza khawwalnahuo ne'matan menna qala innama aute-tuhuo ala elmin bal heiya fetnatun wa lakenna aktharahum la ya'lamuon (49).
And when an adversity touches man, he calls upon Us, then when We bestowed him a favor from Us, he says, only I have been given it for knowledge, rather it is a trial, but most of them do not know.

Qad qalaha allazina men qablehim fa-ma aghna anhum ma kanuo yaksebuon (50).
Indeed, those before them said it, so they were not availed by what they used to earn.

Fa-asabahum sayyi-atuo ma kasabuo wa allazina zalamuo men haula-ee sa-yousebuhum sayyi-atuo ma kasabuo wa ma hum be-mu'jezeen (51).
So the evils of what they earned befell them, and those who have wronged of these will befall them the evils of what they earned, and they will not cause failure.

Awa lam ya'lamuo anna Allaha yabsutuo alrezqa leman yasha-uo wa yaqderuo inna fee zaleka la-ayatin le-qawmin you'menuon (52)
Do they not know that Allah extends the provision for whom He wills, and restricts, indeed, in that are signs for a people who believe.

Qul ya-ebadeiya allazina asrafuo ala anfusehim la taqnatuo men rahmati ellahi inna Allah yaghferuo alzunuba jamee-an innahu huwa Alghafuoru Alraheem (53).
Say, O My servants who have transgressed against themselves do not despair of the mercy of Allah, indeed, Allah forgives all sins, indeed, He is the All-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

Wa aneebuo ela Rabbekum wa aslemuo lahuo men qabli an ya'teiyakumuo alazabuo thumma la tunsaruon (54).
And Return to your Lord and Rubmit to Him before the punishment comes to you, then you will not be helped.

Wa-ttabe-uo ahsana ma aunzela elaiykum men Rabbekum men qabli an ya'teiyakumuo alzabuo baghtatan wa antum la tash-uruon (55).
And follow the best of what was revealed to you from your Lord before the punishment comes upon you suddenly while you do not perceive.

An taqula nafsun ya-hasrata ala ma farrattuo fe janbi ellahi wa in kuntuo la-mena alsakhereen (56).
Lest a soul say Alas! over what I neglected in the closeness to Allah, and that I was one of the mockers.

Aww taqula laww anna Allaha hadani la-kuntuo mena almuttaqeen (57).
Or it say if Allah had guided me, verily I would have been among the righteous.

Aww taqula heena tara alazaba laww anna lee karratan fa-akuna mena almuhseneen (58).
Or it say when it sees the punishment if I could have another chance, then I will be among the good doers.

Bala qad ja'atka ayati fa-kazzabta beha wa-stakbarta wa kunta mena alkafereen (59).
But verily My verses came to you, but you denied them, and were arrogant and you were among the disbelievers.

Wa yawma alqeiyamati tara allazina kazabuo ala Allahi wujuhuhum muswaddatun a-laiytha fee jahannama mathwan lel-mutakabbereen (60).
And the day of resurrection, you will see those who lied about Allah, their faces are blackened, Is there not in Hellfire an abode for the arrogant.

Wa younajji ellahu allazina ettaqaww be-mafazatehim la yamassuhumuo alsu-uo wa la hum yahzanuon (61).
And Allah will save those who feared Him, by their win, no evil will touch them nor will they grieve.

Allahu khalequo kulli shaiy-in wa huwa ala kulli shaiy-in wakeel (62).
Allah is the Creator of everything, and He is a Guardian over everything .

Lahu maqaleeduo alsamawati wa alardi wa allazina kafaruo be-ayati ellahi aulaeka humuo alkhaseruon (63).
To Him belongs the keys of the heavens and the earth, and those who disbelieved in the signs of Allah, those are the losers.

Qul afa-ghaiyra Allahi ta'murunni a'abuduo ayyuha aljaheluon (64).
Say, is it other than Allah that you order Me to worship O ignorant ones!?.

Wa laqad auheiya alaiyka wa ela allazina men qableka la-in ashrakta la-yahbatanna amaluka wa la-takunanna mena alkhasereen (65).
And it was revealed to You and those before You that if you associate, Your deeds will be nullified, and you will be among the losers.

Bali ellaha fa'bud wa kun mena alshakereen (66).
Rather, Worship Allah and be among the grateful.

Wa ma qadaruo Allaha haqqa qadrehi wa alarduo jamee-an qabdatuhuo yawma alqeiyamati wa alsamawatuo matwiyyatun be-yameenehi subhanahu wa ta'ala amma youshrekuon (67)
And they did not appreciate Allah with true appreciation of Him, while the earth entirely in His Grip on the day of resurrection, and the heavens will be folded in His right Hand, Glory be to Him, and High is He above what they associate.

Wa nufekha fee alsuri fasa-eqa man fee alsamawati wa man fee alardi ella man sha-a Allahu thumma nufekha feehi aukhra fa-iza hum qeiyamun yanzuruon (68).
And the trumpet will be blown, so whoever is in the heavens, and whoever is on the earth will fall dead except whom Allah wills, then it will be blown again, so behold! they will stand up, looking around.

Wa ashraqati alarduo be-nouri Rabbeha wa wude-a alketabuo wa jee-a bel-nabiyyina wa alshuhada-e wa qudeiya baiynahum bel-haqqi wa hum la youzlamuon (69).
And the earth will shine with the light of its Lord, and the book will be placed, and the Prophets and the witnesses will be brought, and it will be judged between them with truth, and they will not be wronged.

Wa wuffeiyat kulluo nafsin ma amelat wa huwa a'alamuo bema yaf'aluon (70).
And every soul will be paid in full for what it did, and He knows best of what they are doing.

Wa seeqa allazina kafaruo ela jahannama zumaran hatta iza ja-auha futehat abwabuha wa qala alahum khazanatuha al-lam ya'tekum rusulun menkum yatluna alaiykum ayati Rabbekum wa younzerunakum leqaa yawmekum haza qaluo bala wa laken haqqat kalematuo alazabi ala alkafereen (71).
And those who disbelieve will be driven to Hellfire in groups, until when they reach it, its gates will be opened, and its wardens will say to them Did there not come to you Messengers from among you, reciting to you the verses of your Lord and warning you the meeting of this day of yours, they will say yes but the word of punishment has come true against the disbelievers.

Qeela audkhuluo abwaba jahannama khaledeena feeha fa-be'sa mathwa almutakabbereen (72).
And it will be said Enter the gates of Hellfire, abiding therein forever, so wretched is the abode of the arrogant.

Wa seeqa allazina ettaqaww Rabbahum ela aljannati zumaran hatta iza ja-auha wa futehat abwabuha wa qala alahum khazanatuha salamun aliykum tebtum fa-dkhuluha khaledeen (73).
And those who feared their Lord will be driven to Paradise in groups, until when they reach it, its gates will be opened, and its wardens will say to them peace be upon you, you have done well, so Enter it, abiding forever.

Wa qaluo alhamduo lellahi allazi sadaqana wa'dahuo wa awrathana alarda natabawwa-uo mena aljannati haiythuo nasha-uo fa-ne'ma ajruo alameleen (74).
And they will say praise be to Allah who has fulfilled for us His promise, and has made us inherit the earth, so we may settle in Paradise wherever we will, so excellent is the reward of the doers.

Wa tara almalaekata haffeena men hawli alarshi yousabbehuona be-hamdi Rabbehim wa qudeiya baiynahum bel-haqqi wa qeela alhamduo lellahi Rabbi al-alameen (75)
And You will see the Angels surrounding the throne, glorifying with the praise of their Lord, and it will be judged between them with truth and it will be said praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

Simplified interpretation:

Surat Alzumar deals with several acknowledgments begin with the fact that the Holy Quran is a revelation from Allah Almighty to His Messenger Muhammad (PBUH), Allah alone is worthy of worship, He has no son, He is the Creator of everything, He is free of need of man, and no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another. And Allah explains throughout the Surah the difference between the companions of Paradise and the companions of Hellfire with regard to what they used to do in the worldly life and what awaits them in the Hereafter, then He calls those who have wronged themselves to hasten to repent, to submit to Him before the punishment comes to them, and not to despair from His mercy, and Allah concludes the Surah with some scenes of the day of resurrection and the Judgment between His servants.

Allah says in the first three verses (1-3) "The revelation of the book is from Allah, the All-mighty, the All-Wise, indeed, We have revealed the book to you with truth, so worship Allah, being sincere to Him in the religion, Unquestionably, the pure religion belongs to Allah, and those who take protectors besides Allah, we only worship them so that they may bring us close to Allah in status, indeed, Allah will judge between them in that over which they differ, indeed, Allah does not guide he who is a liar, a severe disbeliever" that is, Allah confirms that He has revealed the Holy Quran to His Messenger Muhammad (PBUH), and He is All-Mighty who is Severe in His revenge on those who disobeyed Him, and He is All-Wise who manages His creation with wisdom in His laws and destiny, and that He has revealed the Holy Quran with truth and justice, so Allah commanded His Messenger to worship Him alone and to be sincere to Him in religion, and not to associate anything with Him, where the pure religion belongs to Allah alone for no deed will be accepted except that which the servant sincerely does for Allah, who has no partner, but as for the polytheists, they take their idols as a protectors besides Allah, and they claimed that they only worship them so that the idols may bring them near to Allah in status and to intercede for them with Allah, thereupon, Allah affirms that He will judge between them on the day of resurrection in that over which they differ and He will recompense everyone for his deeds, and He does not guide he who is a liar and a severe disbeliever whose heart is filled with disbelief and denial of Allah's signs and proofs, so he denied the truth when it came to him, disbelieved in Allah, was ungrateful to Allah and denied that He is the One who bestows His blessings upon him,

Allah says in the next two verses (4,5) "If Allah had intended to take a son, He would have chosen from what He had created whatever He willed, glory to be Him, the One, the Oft-omnipotent, He created the heavens and the earth with the truth, He wraps the night over the day and He wraps the day over the night, and He subjected the sun and the moon, each running for an appointed time, unquestionably, He is the Almighty, the Oft-forgiving", that is, Allah refutes a false belief among the polytheists and the people of the scripture, who claimed that Allah has a son as mentioned in Aya (116) of Surat Albaqarah, so He says if He had intended to take a son, He would have chosen from what He had created whatever He willed, but glory to be Him and sanctified from having a son for He is the One, the Oft-omnipotent who has no equals and He who conquered everything by His power. Then Allah confirms that He created the heavens and the earth with truth, and He subjected the day and the night to run in succession where He causes the night to revolve upon the day, and the day to revolve upon the night, and He subjected the sun and the moon for sunrise and sunset, each running for an appointed term which is the day of resurrection, unquestionably, Allah is the Almighty who is Severe in His revenge on those who disobeyed Him but at the same time He is Oft-Forgiving who forgives those who repent, believe, and do righteous deeds.

Allah says in the next verse (6) "He created you from one soul, then He made from it its spouse, then He sent down for you eight pairs of the cattle, He creates you in the wombs of your mothers, creation after creation, in three darknesses, that is Allah, your Lord, to Him belongs the kingdom, there is no god but He, so how are you being turned away?", that is, Allah confirms that He created all people from one soul (Adam), despite their different races, tongues and colors, then He created from it its wife Eve, and Allah created eight pairs of the cattle of the sheep two, of the goats two, of the camels two and of the cows two as mentioned in Aya (143,144) of Surat Alana'am, and Allah creates mankind in the wombs of their mothers, creation after creation begins with a sperm-drop, then a clinging blood, then a lump of flesh, then the lump turns into bones, then the bones are covered with flesh as Allah has stated in Aya (14) of Surat Almu'menuon, and in the stages of human formation, he will be in three darknesses which are the darkness of his mother's belly, the darkness of the womb, and the darkness of the placenta, then Allah affirms that the One who created that is worthy of worship and says "that is Allah, your Lord, to Him belongs the kingdom, there is no god but He", so how are mankind being turned away from worshipping Him alone, and worships others who can not create anything, rather they are created.

Allah says in the next verse (7) "If you disbelieve, indeed then, Allah is free of need of you, and He does not like disbelief for His servants, and if you give thanks, He likes it for you, and no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another, then to your Lord is your return, then He will inform you of what you used to do, indeed, He is All-Knower of what is in the breasts", that is, if man disbelieved in Allah, He is Free of need of him, but he does like disbelief for His servants, and if man gives thanks, believes, and obeys Allah, then He likes that for him, then Allah confirms that everybody who wrongs himself by disbelief or some sins, it is upon him to bear his sin, and no one can bear it from him, and that to Him is the final return on the day of resurrection and He will inform man of what he used to do in the worldly life of good or evil, where nothing is hidden from Him even the secrets that the breasts conceal.

Allah says in the next verse (8) ''And when an adversity touches man, he calls his Lord, oft-returning to Him, then, when He bestows upon him a favor from himself, he forgets what he used to call him before, and he makes equals to Allah, so that he leads astray from His way, Say, Enjoy of your disbelief for a little, indeed, you are of the companions of the Fire", that is, when an adversity touches man, and he is in a need, he supplicates, seeks help from Allah alone, and turns to Him in repentance, but when Allah bestows a favor upon Him and saves him from the adversity and the hardship, he forgets that supplication and forgets Allah's favor upon him, and makes equals and partners to Allah so that he leads others astray from Allah's way, thereupon, Allah threatened that man and commanded His Messenger to say to him "Enjoy of your disbelief for a little, indeed, you are of the companions of the Fire".

Allah says in the next two verses (9,10) "Is he who is obedient during the night, prostrating and standing, fearing the Hereafter, and hoping the mercy of His Lord, Say, are equal those who know and those who do not know, only those of understanding will remember, Say, O My servants who believe! fear your Lord, for those who do good in this world is good, and the earth of Allah is spacious, certainly, those who are patient will be given their reward in full without account", that is, the believer does not forget his Lord at the time of adversity nor at the time of prosperity but rather he devoutly obedient to his Lord during the night, obedient to Him in the state of prostration and standing, fearing the punishment of the Hereafter and desiring the mercy of Allah, so Is the one who knows what is good in obedience to His Lord equal to the one who does not know and makes equals and partners besides Allah as shown above, verily, the companions of Paradise and the companions of Hellfire are not equal but those of understanding will remember and will know the difference between the two groups, therefore, Allah commanded His Messenger to say to those who believe to remain steadfast in obedience and to fear their Lord where those who do good in the worldly life will have good in the worldly life and in the Hereafter, then Allah assures that the earth is vast, so Migrate therein and retired from the idols and those who commit sins, and Allah will give the people of patience their reward in full in the Hereafter without account for what they met of hardships in the worldly life.

Allah says in the next six verses (11-16) "Say, I have been commanded to worship Allah, being sincere to Him in the religion, and I have been commanded to be the first of the Muslims, Say, I fear if I disobey My Lord, the punishment of a great day, Say, Allah whom I worship, being sincere to Him in my religion, So worship what you wills besides Him, Say, indeed, the losers are those who will lose themselves and their families on the day of resurrection, unquestionably, that is the clear loss, for them, shadows of the Fire from above them, and shadows from below them, that is which Allah threatens with it His servants, O My servants! so Fear Me", that is, Allah commanded His Messenger to say to the polytheists that He has been commanded to worship Allah alone, to be sincere to Him in religion, and not to associate anything with Him, and He has been commanded to be the first of the Muslims of His Ummah for He was the first to oppose the religion of His forefathers, the first to abandon their idols, and the first to submit to Allah and to believe in Him, and to say that he fears the punishment of the day of resurrection if He disobeyed Allah in what He commanded Him to do, and if he did not acknowledge His oneness and this is similar to Aya (15) of Surat Alan'am and Aya (15) of Surat Yunus when the polytheists called Allah's Messenger to worship other than Allah, and when they asked Him to bring another Quran or to change it, so Allah commanded Him again to say that He believes in monotheism and worshipping Allah alone, and He is sincere to Him in the religion.

Then He disavowed of their worship and threatened them by saying "So worship what you wills besides Him", and Allah commanded Him to assure them that the losers are those who will lose themselves and their families on the day of resurrection, where they will burn in Hellfire, and will lose their families whether their families go to paradise or they will be in Hellfire, they will not benefit them nor will they help them, and that is the great loss where there is no gathering for them with their families nor happiness, rather for them shadows of Hellfire from above them and beneath them are shadows that shade those below them in Hellfire, thereupon, Allah cites the state of the losers on the day of resurrection on order to frighten His servants from the punishment of that day, so He commanded His servants to fear Him by performing what he commands, and avoiding what He forbids so that they may be saved from His punishment and wrath.

Allah says in the next four verses (17-20) "And those who avoid the false gods lest they worship them, and turn to Allah, for them are the glad tidings, so Give glad tidings to My servants, those who listen the saying then they follow the best of it, those are the ones whom Allah has guided, and those are the ones of understanding, then is he who upon him the word of punishment has come true, then Can You save he who is in the Fire?, but those who fear their Lord, for them chambers, above them chambers built high, beneath which rivers flow, the promise of AllahAllah does not break the promise", that is, Allah praises those who leave everything that is worshipped besides Allah, and turn to the worship of Him alone, so for them are the glad tidings in the worldly life and in the Hereafter, and Allah commanded His Messenger to give the glad tidings to His servants, those who listen to the saying then they follow the best thereof where they understand it and act according to it, and those who do so are the ones whom Allah has guided them to the truth, and those are the ones of understanding and sound minds. Then Allah addresses His Messenger and says is he whom Allah has written that he is wretched and the word of punishment has come true upon him, Can you save him from the Hellfire?, surely, no one guides and saves him except Allah where, as it will come later in Ayat (23,36), whoever Allah lets go astray, then there is no guide for him. But as for those who fear their Lord by performing what He commands and avoiding what prohibits, for them in Paradise chambers above them chambers which are high and ornate buildings beneath which rivers flow, and that is the promise of Allah and He does not break his promise to the believers.

Allah says in the next verse (21) "Do You not see that Allah sends down water from the sky, then He makes it flow as springs in the earth, then He brings forth with it plants of various colors, then it wither, and you can see it turning yellow, then He makes it debris, indeed, in that a reminder for those of understanding", that is, Allah addresses His Messenger and says Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky, then He makes it runs through springs in different parts of the earth as He wills, then He brings forth with it plants of different shapes and colors, then after its greenness and freshness, it dries up and turns yellow, then Allah makes it debris, thereupon, Allah assures that this example is a reminder for those of understanding; because Allah has linked the worldly life with the example of rain and plant as in Aya (20) of Surat Alhadid, and Aya (45) of Surat Alkahf, so whoever takes the worldly life as a play and amusement, he only gains the enjoyment of delusion, where the worldly life will pass away, and he will face the Hereafter and the torment that awaits him.

Allah says in the next two verses (22,23) "Then is he who Allah has expanded his breast for Islam, so he is upon a light from his Lord, so woe to those whose hearts are hardened from the remembrance of Allah, those are in a clear error, Allah has sent down the best statement, a book, similar, oft-repeated, the skins of those who fear their Lord shiver from it, then their skins and their hearts become soft towards the remembrance of Allah, that is the guidance of Allah, by which He guides whom He wills, and whoever Allah lets go astray, then there is no guide for him", that is, he who Allah has expanded His heart to Islam, he is upon a light from His Lord; because Allah enlightened the truth in his heart so he follows Allah's commands and avoids His prohibitions, and he is not equal to he who turned away from Allah's remembrance, thereuponAllah threatens those whose hearts are hardened from the remembrance of Allah with the painful torment on the day of resurrection, where the word woe (Wail) idiomatically carries the meaning of destruction and perishing and means that the torment will be theirs as a recompense for their deeds, then Allah assures that they are in a clear error because their hearts do not soften nor submit to the truth.

Then Allah praises the Holy Quran and describes it as the best statement, and it is a book whose verses resemble one another, explicitly and implicitly, and repeated in many places without contradictions nor differences, and it is a great evidence that it is the truth from our Lord; because if the truth were repeated thousands of times, it would remain as it is, not changed or altered, but as for falsehood, it has no basis of truth so it changes and contradicts each other when it is repeated, so as Allah has stated in Aya (82) of Surat Alnisaa "If it had been from any other than Allah, they would have been found within it much contradiction". The skins of those who fear their Lord tremble when they hear the Holy Quran, then their skins and their hearts become soft where they find peace and tranquility in the remembrance of Allah, and the Holy Quran is a guidance of Allah by which He guides whom He wills, and whoever Allah lets go astray, then there is no guide for him. Thus the state of the heart with the remembrance of Allah is evidence of guidance or misguidance, so whoever finds good, let him praise Allah, and whoever finds other than that, let him blame no one but himself.

Allah says in the next three verses (24-26) "Then is he who shields with his face the worst of the punishment on the day of resurrection, and it will be said to the wrongdoers, Taste what you used to earn, those before them denied, so the punishment came upon them from where they do not perceive, so Allah made them taste the disgrace in the worldly life, and certainly, the punishment of the Hereafter is greater if only they knew", that is, the disbeliever will fall on his face in Hellfire on the day of resurrection, and he will face the worst of punishment and it will be said to him "Taste what you used to earn", and this similar to Aya (48) of Surat Alqamar "The day they will be dragged into the Fire on their faces, taste the touch of Saqar", where Saqar is one of the names of Hellfire. The previous nations that were before the polytheists of Quraish denied their Messengers, so Allah destroyed them for their sins and the punishment came upon them from where they do not perceive, and Allah made them taste the disgrace and afflictions in the worldly life, and what He has prepared for them in the Hereafter of severe punishment is greater than what befell them in the worldly life if only they knew.

Allah says in the next two verses (27,28) "And indeed, We have cited for the people in this Quran from every example so that they may remember, an Arabic Quran that has no crookedness so that they may fear", that is, Allah has cited for the people in the Holy Quran from every example of the previous nations and the punishment that afflicted them so that they may remember and take admonition lest they be afflicted by what befell those before them, then Allah confirms that the Holy Quran is in a clear Arabic tongue, with no crookedness, deviation, or confusion, so that they may fear Allah, turn to Him, fear His punishment, and hope His mercy.

Allah says in the next three verses (29-31) "Allah has cited an example, a man owned by quarreling partners, and a man exclusively owned by one man, are they both equal in comparison?, praise be to Allah, but most of them do not know, indeed You are to die, and indeed, they are to die, then, indeed, you on the day of resurrection will dispute before your Lord", that is, Allah cites the example of a man owned by quarreling partners and they dispute over that common slave between them, and a man exclusively owned by one man, and no one else owns him, they are not equal; because the polytheist who worships gods besides Allah is not equal to the believer who worships Allah alone, so the complete praise be to Allah, there is no God but Him, but most of the polytheists do not know that they are not equal so they associate others with Allah. Then Allah addresses His Messenger and says that He will die and they will die, and on the day of resurrection, humans will dispute before their Lord, the truthful with the liar, the oppressed with the oppressor, and the weak with arrogant, so Our Prophet said in narration of Abu Hurayrah: "Whoever has oppressed another person concerning his reputation or anything else, he should beg him to forgive him before the day of  resurrection when there will be no Dinar or Dirham (financial coins), but if had good deeds, those good deeds will be taken from him according to his oppression which he has done, and if he has no good deeds, the sins of the oppressed person will be loaded on him".

Allah says in the next four verses (32-35) "Then who is more unjust than he who lies against Allah, and denies the truth when it has come to him, Is there not in Hellfire an abode for the disbelievers?, and the one who brought the truth and believed in it, those are the righteous, for them whatever they will with their Lord, that is the reward of the good doers, that Allah will remove from them the worst of what they did, and will give them their reward for the best of what they used to do", that is, Allah confirms that there is no one who is more unjust than the one who invents a lie about Allah and claims that He has a son and makes equals for Him, and yet he denies the Holy Quran when it has come to him from Allah's Messenger, so Allah threatens the disbelievers with Hellfire that will be their abode, abiding therein forever. But as for Allah's Messenger who brought the Holy Quran and believed in it and those who followed Him, those are the righteous, for them with their Lord on the day of resurrection whatever they desire in Paradise, and that is the reward of the good doers who worship Allah as if they see Him, and if they can not see Him, then Allah sees them, so they act according Allah's commands and prohibitions, so that Allah will remove from them the worst of what they committed of evil deeds in the worldly life, and He will give them their reward for the best of what they used to do of good deeds, and this is similar to Aya (16) of Surat Alahqaf.

Allah says in the next two verses (36,37) "Is not Allah Sufficient for His servant, and they are frightening you of those besides Him, and whoever Allah lets go astray, then there is no guide for him, and whoever Allah guides, for him there is no misleader, Is not Allah Almighty, the Possessor of vengeance", that is, Allah asks His Messenger as a kind of affirmation and says Is not He sufficient for Him where the polytheists of Quraish frightened Allah's Messenger out of their ignorance and misguidance of the idols and false gods which they worshipped besides Allah, so Allah affirms that whoever Allah lets go astray from the path of guidance, then there is no guide for him, and no one can mislead he who Allah guides, and Allah is Almighty who is Severe in His revenge on those who disobeyed Him where He is the Possessor of vengeance.

Allah addresses His Messenger in the next three verses (38-40) and says "And If You ask them Who created the heavens and the earth, they would say, Allah, Say then, Do you see what you invoke besides Allah, if Allah intended a harm for Me, Are they removers of His harm, or if He intends a mercy for Me, Are they able to withhold His mercy? Say Allah is Sufficient for Me, upon Him rely those who trust, Say, O My people! Do at your position, indeed, I am doing, but you will know, to whom will come a torment disgracing him, and a constant punishment descends on him", that is, if Allah's Messenger asked the polytheists, Who created the heavens and the earth, they would acknowledge that Allah created them, and yet they worship other than Him, therefore, Allah commanded Him to ask them whether their gods can remove the harm and the afflictions from Him if Allah intends a harm for Him or are they able to prevent Allah's mercy and favor from Him if Allah intends a mercy for Him, unquestionably, they do not harm nor benefit besides Allah, so Allah commanded Him to say to them " Allah is Sufficient for Me, upon Him rely those who trust", and to say as a threat Do according to your position and your method, and He is doing according His position and method where they will know to whom will come a torment disgracing and humiliating him in the worldly life, and a constant punishment will befall him on the day of resurrection.

Allah says in the next two verses (41,42) "Indeed, We have sent down to You the book for the people with truth, so whoever is guided, then it is for himself, and whoever goes astray, then only he goes astray against it, and You are not in charge of them, Allah takes the souls at the time of their death, and those who do not die in their sleep, then He holds those upon whom He has decreed death, and sends the others to an appointed term, indeed, in that are signs for a people who give thought", that is, Allah addresses His Messenger and says that He has sent down the Holy Quran for the people with truth, so whoever follows the guidance of Holy Quran, then he benefits himself and gains the pleasure of Allah, and whoever goes astray from the guidance, then he misleads himself and gains Allah's wrath, then Allah assures His Messenger that He is not in charge of them, He only has to convey Allah's message and upon Allah is the reckoning as mentioned in Aya (40) of Surat Alra'dAllah affirms that He is the Only one who gives life and causes death as He takes the souls at the times of their death, and takes the souls of those who do not die in their sleep, then He holds the souls of the dead and sends the souls of the living up to the time of their death, so Allah takes the souls in two states, in the state of sleep and in the state of death and in that are signs for those who give thought; because they will realize that their affairs are in the hands of Allah, so Allah's Messenger said in narration of Abu Hurayrah: "When anyone of you goes to bed, he should take hold of the hem of his lower garment and then should clean his bed by it and then should recite the name of Allah for he does not know what he has left behind him on his bed and when He intends to lie on his bed, he should lie on his right side and he should utter "Glory to be Allah, my lord, It is with You that I place my side, and it is with You that I take it up, and in case you withholds my soul, then Forgive it, and if You sends it, then protect it with that with which you protected Your righteous servants, Subhanaka Allahumma Rabbi wada'tuo janbee wa beka arfa'uhuo in amsakta nafsi fa-ghfir laha wa in arsaltaha fa-hfazha bema tahfazuo behi ebadaka alsaleheen".

Allah says in the next three verses (43-45) "Or have they taken intercessors besides Allah, Say even though they do not possess anything, nor do they understand?, Say, To Allah belongs the intercession, entirely, to Him the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, then to Him you will be returned, and when Allah is mentioned alone, the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter are disgusted, and when those besides Him are mentioned, behold! they rejoice", that is, Allah marvels at the polytheists who take their idols as intercessors in order to intercede for them with Allah, so Allah commanded His Messenger to assure them that their idols do not posses anything of the matter, rather they are inanimate objects who do not have a mind with which to reflect, a hearing with which to hear, nor a sight with which they see, and to assure them that the intercession belongs to Allah alone, and He gives it to whomever He permits as mentioned in Aya (255) of Surat Albaqarah "Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission", and to Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth where His  Disposer of all affairs, and everybody will return to Him on the day of resurrection and He will judge between them with the truth and justice. Then Allah tells about the polytheists whose hearts are disgusted and turned away from the monotheism when Allah is mentioned alone, but when the idols and the equals that they worship besides Allah are mentioned, they rejoice and be pleased.

Allah says in the next verse (46) "Say O Allah! the Originator of the heavens and the earth, the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, You will judge between Your servants in that about which they used to differ", that is Allah commanded His Messenger to invoke Him alone, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed who knows everything that His servants see, and what is hidden from them, and nothing is hidden from Him, and to acknowledge that He will judge between His servants in the day of resurrection in what they used to differ of the truth, so as narrated by Abdul-rahman Bin Awf: ''I asked Aisha, the mother of the believers, to tell me the words with which Allah's Messenger commenced the prayer when He got up at night, she said: When He got up at night He would commence His prayer with these words "O Allah!, Lord of Gabriel, and Michael and Israfil, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, You will judge between Your servants in that about which they used to differ, guide Me to the truth that it had been differed about by Your permission, indeed, You guides whom you will to the straight path "Allahumma Rabba Gebrael wa Michaeel wa Israfeel  fatera alsamawati wa alardi alema alghaibi wa alshahadati anta tahkumu baiyna ebadeka fee ma kanuo feehi yakhtalefuon, ehdeni lema aukhtulefa feehi mena alhaqqi be-izneka innaka tahdi man tasha-uo ela seratin mustaqeem".

Allah says in the next two verses (47,48) "And if those who have wronged had whatever is on the earth, all, and its like with it, they would ransom thereby from the worst of the punishment on the day of resurrection, and will appear to them from Allah what they did not expect, and the evil of what they earned will appear to them, so they have been encircled by what they used to ridicule it", that is, if the polytheists who have wronged themselves with disbelief and arrogance had whatever is on the earth of wealth and adornment and the like of it with it, they would ransom themselves thereby in order to be saved from the worst punishment on the day of resurrection, but the ransom will not be accepted from them even if they have an earth full of gold as Allah has stated in Aya (91) of Surat Aliemran, and Allah's Messenger said in narration of Anas bin Malik: "Allah will say to he whose punishment is easiest from among the people of Hellfire: If you had everything on the earth, would you ransom yourself with it? He will say Yes, Allah will say I asked you what is easier than this while you were in the backbone of Adam, that you should not associate anything with Me, but you refused except polytheism" (Sahih Albukhari 3334). So it will appear to the polytheists from Allah's punishment what they did not imagine, and the bad consequence of their evil deeds in the worldly life will appear to them, and they will be surrounded by what they were mocking of Allah's torment.

Allah says in the next four verses (49-52) "And when an adversity touches man, he calls upon Us, then when We bestowed him a favor from Us, he says, only I have been given it for knowledge, rather it is a trial, but most of them do not know, indeed, those before them said it, so they were not availed by what they used to earn, so the evils of what they earned befell them, and those who have wronged of these will befall them the evils of what they earned, and they will not cause failure, Do they not know that Allah extends the provision for whom He wills, and restricts, indeed, in that are signs for a people who believe", that is, when an adversity touches man, and he is in a need, he supplicates and seeks help from Allah alone, but when Allah bestows a favor upon Him and saves him from the adversity and the hardship, he claims that he only has been given it for a knowledge and that this is what he deserves with his Lord, and this is similar to Aya (50) of Surat Fussilat "He will surely say this is to me", but it is not as he claimed for Allah has bestowed the favor upon him in order to test him whether he will be grateful or not, obedient or disobedient, so he is in a trial but most of them do not know, and those before them from the previous nations said the same saying, including Qaruon as mentioned in Surat Alqasas Aya (78), but what they collected of wealth did not avail them from Allah's punishment, and the bad consequence of their evil deeds in the worldly life befell them, then Allah threatens those who have wronged of Quraish that the bad consequence of their evil deeds will befall them too where they can not cause failure on the earth nor escape from Allah's authority. Then Allah assures that He extends the provision for whom He wills, and restricts it for whom He wills as He makes whoever He wills rich, and whoever He wills poor, and in that are signs for a people who believe for they will reflect and understand that the abundance of livelihood may be a trial, and the restriction may be a blessing from Allah.

Allah says in the next verse (53) "Say, O My servants who have transgressed against themselves do not despair of the mercy of Allah, indeed, Allah forgives all sins, indeed, He is the All-Forgiving, the Most Merciful", that is, Allah calls His servants who transgressed against themselves to repent and no to despair from His mercy for He forgives all sins as He is All-Forgiving and Most Merciful for those who repent, believe, and do righteous deeds, and as narrated by Ibn Abbas "Some pagans who committed murders in great number and committed illegal sexual intercourse excessively, came to Muhammad (PBUH) and said O Muhammad! whatever you say and call people to is good, but we wish if you could inform us whether we can make an expiation for our deeds, So Allah revealed this Aya and Aya (68) of Surat Alfurqan".

Allah says in the next two verses (54,55) "And Return to your Lord and Submit to Him before the punishment comes to you, then you will not be helped, And follow the best of what was revealed to you from your Lord before the punishment comes upon you suddenly while you do not perceive", that is, Allah urges His servants to hasten to repent, submit to Him alone, and do righteous deeds before the punishment comes to them in the worldly life, then they will not be helped nor be saved from that punishment, then Allah commanded His servants to follow the best of what was revealed to them, which is the Holy Quran as shown above in Aya (23), before the punishment comes upon them suddenly while they do not realize.

Allah says in the next four verses (56-59) "Lest a soul say Alas! over what I neglected in the closeness to Allah, and that I was one of the mockers, or it say if Allah had guided me, verily I would have been among the righteous, or it say when it sees the punishment if I could have another chance, then I will be among the good doers, but verily My verses came to you, but you denied them, and were arrogant and you were among the disbelievers", that is, Allah commanded His servants in the two previous verses to hasten to repent and to follow the path of the truth before the day of resurrection comes, and then the disbeliever regrets ignoring closeness to Allah through repentance and obedience, and he would like to be among the righteous, and he will acknowledge that the torment befell him because he was one of the mockers of Allah's signs and Messengers. Or the disbeliever will say if Allah had guided him to the path of guidance, he would have been among the righteous or he will say when he sees the punishment of Hellfire, if he could have another chance in the worldly life, then he will be among the good doers and he will absolve himself from polytheism, but the disbelievers will not have another chance because if they were returned, they would return to that which they were forbidden as Allah has stated in Aya (28) of Surat Alana'm, and then Allah will say to him that His verses came to Him through His Messenger and His book but he denied it, he was arrogant to accept the truth, and he was among the disbelievers.

Allah says in the next two verses (60,61) "And the day of resurrection, you will see those who lied about Allah, their faces are blackened, Is there not in Hellfire an abode for the arrogant, and Allah will save those who feared Him, by their win, no evil will touch them nor will they grieve", that is, Allah addresses His Messenger and says that on the day of resurrection he will see those who invented a lie about Allah and made equals for Him that their face will turn black for Allah's wrath and vengeance will befall them because there in no one who is more unjust than the one who invents a lie about Allah as shown above in Aya (32), so Allah threatens them that the Hellfire will be the abode for the arrogant, abiding therein forever. On the other hand, Allah will save the righteous by their win and salvation from Allah's punishment, and the evil will not touch them on the day of resurrection nor will they grieve for what they missed before.

Allah says in the next two verses (62,63) "Allah is the Creator of everything, and He is a Guardian over everything, to Him belongs the keys of the heavens and the earth, and those who disbelieved in the signs of Allah, those are the losers" that is, Allah confirms that He is the Creator of the heavens and the earth, He is a Disposer of all affairs and every thing is under His control and authority, and He is the One who has the treasures of the heavens and the earth, so He disposes and rules over both of them as He wills, so those who denied His arguments and proofs, and turned away from the truth, those are the losers as they deprived themselves from Allah's mercy and bounty in the worldly life and in the Hereafter.

Allah addresses His Messenger in the next three verses (64-66) and says "Say, is it other than Allah that you order Me to worship O ignorant ones!?, and it was revealed to You and those before You that if you associate, Your deeds will be nullified, and you will be among the losers, rather, Worship Allah and be among the grateful", that is, the polytheists of Quraish invited Allah's Messenger to worship their idols, so Allah commanded Him to say to them "Is it other than Allah that you order Me to worship O ignorant ones!, they are ignorant because they did not know that Allah alone is worthy of worship, and because the monotheism is the message of all heavenly religion, Allah has revealed to His Messenger and all Messengers before Him that if He associate others with Allah, His deeds will be nullified and He will not obtain any reward for it, but rather He will be among the losers and will gain the recompense of the polytheists in the worldly life and in the Hereafter, so Allah commanded His Messenger to worship Him alone, and to be among the grateful who acknowledge Allah's bounty and guidance.

Allah says in the next verse (67) "And they did not appreciate Allah with true appreciation of Him, while the earth entirely in His Grip on the day of resurrection, and the heavens will be folded in His right Hand, Glory be to Him, and High is He above what they associate", that is, the polytheists did not appraise Allah as He deserves as they associate others with Him, while the earth entirely will be in His Grip on the day of resurrection and the heaves will be folded in His right Hand, so Glory to be Allah, and High is He above what they associate with Him. And as narrated by Abdullah: "A rabbi (Jewish) came to Allah's Messenger and said O Muhammad! we learn that Allah will put the heavens on one finger, and the earth on one finger, and the trees on one finger, and the water and the dust on one finger, and all the other created beings on one finger, then He will say "I am the king", thereupon the Prophet smiled so that His pre-molar teeth became visible, and that was the confirmation of the rabbi, then Allah's Messenger recited this Aya". Abu Hurayrah also said: "I heard Allah's Messenger saying ''Allah will hold the whole earth and fold all the heavens in His Right Hand, and then He will say ''I am the king, where are the kings of the earth?", and as narrated by Masruq: "Aisha said O Messenger of Allah! while the earth entirely in His Grip on the day of resurrection, and the heavens will be folded in His right Hand, Where will the believers be?, He said upon the Sirat O Aisha!" (Jami' Altirmidhi 3242), and in another narration of Mujahid He said "upon the bridge over Hellfire" (Jami' Altirmidhi 3241).

Allah says in the next verse (68) "And the trumpet will be blown, so whoever is in the heavens, and whoever is on the earth will fall dead except whom Allah wills, then it will be blown again, so behold! they will stand up, looking around", that is, Allah cites two scenes of the day of resurrection, where it will start with the first blowing of the trumpet, so whoever is in the heavens, and whoever is on the earth will fall dead except whom Allah wills, and as narrated by Abdulah Bin Amr "A Bedouin said O Messenger of Allah! What is Alsuor (trumpet) He said a horn which is blown into". Then the trumpet will be blown again, and there will be a period of time between the two blowing as narrated by Abu Hurayrah: "The Prophet said: between the two blowing of the trumpet there will be forty", the people said O Abu Hurayrah! forty days? I refused to replay, they said forty years? I refused to reply and added everything of the human body will decay except coccyx bone and from that bone Allah will reconstruct the whole body". The second blowing is the blowing of the resurrection from the graves, so the dead will stand up, looking at the horrors of the day of resurrection, and waiting for the reckoning, and our Prophet said in narration of Abu Hurayrah: "I will be the first to raise My head after the second blowing of the trumpet and will see Moses hanging the throne, and I will not know whether He had been in that state all the time or after the blowing of the trumpet".

Allah says in the next two verses (69,70) "And the earth will shine with the light of its Lord, and the book will be placed, and the Prophets and the witnesses will be brought, and it will be judged between them with truth, and they will not be wronged, and every soul will be paid in full for what it did, and He knows best of what they are doing", that is, after the dead rise from the graves, the time of reckoning comes, so the earth will be illuminated with the light of Allah where Allah's Messenger said in narration of Abu Musa that Allah's veil is the light, and if He withdraws it, the splendor of His countenance would burn His creation so far as His sight reaches, the book of deeds will be placed, the Messengers will be brought to bear witness that they have conveyed Allah's message to His creation, and the witnesses will be brought to bear witness whether they are the Angels who scribes the deeds of the servants in the worldly life or others, so it will be judged between them with truth, and they will not be wronged, each according to his deeds, where the wrongdoers will be recompensed for their evil deeds and nothing will be added to their sins, whereas nothing will be deprived from the reward of the good-doers, so Allah will repay them fully for their deeds and He knows best of what they do whether good or evil.

Allah says in the next two verses (71,72) "And those who disbelieve will be driven to Hellfire in groups, until when they reach it, its gates will be opened, and its wardens will say to them Did there not come to you Messengers from among you, reciting to you the verses of your Lord and warning you the meeting of this day of yours, they will say yes but the word of punishment has come true against the disbelievers, and it will be said Enter the gates of Hellfire, abiding therein forever, so wretched is the abode of the arrogant", that is, the disbelievers will be driven to Hellfire in groups where it has seven gates, for each gate there is a group from them as mentioned in Aya (44) of Surat Alhijr, and when they reach the Hellfire, its gates will be opened, then its wardens will say to them as a reprimand Did there not come to you Messengers from among you, reciting to you the verses of your Lord with which He sent His Messengers, and warning the meeting of the day of resurrection, and the fate that awaits you, then they will confess that their Messengers came to them with proofs and arguments but they denied them and said that Allah has not sent down anything and said that the Messengers are only in a great error as mentioned in Surat Almulk Aya (9), and they will say that the word of punishment has come true against the disbelievers as they turned away from the truth to falsehood, then it will be said to them "Enter the gates of Hellfire, abiding therein forever", so how wretched is the abode in which there is humiliation and severe punishment for those who were arrogant to follow the truth from their Lord.

Allah says in the last three verses (73-75) "And those who feared their Lord will be driven to Paradise in groups, until when they reach it, its gates will be opened, and its wardens will say to them peace be upon you, you have done well, so Enter it, abiding forever, and they will say praise be to Allah who has fulfilled for us His promise, and has made us inherit the earth, so we may settle in Paradise wherever we will, so excellent is the reward of the doers, and You will see the Angels surrounding the throne, glorifying with the praise of their Lord, and it will be judged between them with truth and it will be said praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds", that is, the righteous will be driven to Paradise in groups, where it has eights doors where Our Prophet said in narration of Ubada Bin Alsamit: "He who said there is no God but Allah, He is One, and there is no associate with Him, that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger, that Jesus is the servant of Allah and the son of His slave-girl, and He is His word which He communicated to Mary and a Spirit from Him, that the Paradise is a truth, and the Hellfire is a truth, Allah will make him to enter through any of the eight doors of Paradise he wills", so when the righteous reach Paradise, its gates will be opened and its wardens will say to them peace be upon you, your deeds were good in the worldly life, so your reward is good and you will enter Paradise to abide therein forever, and the first to enter it will be our Prophet Muhammad where He said in narration of Anas Bin Malik: "I will come to the gate of Paradise on the day of resurrection, and would seek its opening, and the keeper would say Who are you?, I would say Muhammad, he would then say It is for you that I have been ordered not to open it for anyone before You".

The believers will say when they enter Paradise and see the abundant reward and the lasting bliss from their Lord, Praise be to Allah who has fulfilled for us His promise, and has made us inherit the earth of Paradise, so we may dwell in Paradise wherever we will, so it is a great and excellent reward for the good doers, then Allah addresses His Messenger and says that He will see the Angels surrounding the throne on the day of resurrection, glorifying with the Praise of their Lord, and it will be Judged between the creation with truth where the companions Paradise went to Paradise, and the companions of Hellfire went to Hellfire, and then the day of resurrection will end with saying "Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds".
