 18- Surat Alkahf

110 Verses Meccan (revealed in Mecca)

A'auzu Bellahi mena alshaiytani alrajeem

I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan

Besmi Ellahi Alrhmani Alraheem

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Alhamduo lellahi allazi anzala ala abdehi  alketaba wa lam yaj'al lahuo ewaja (1).
Praise be to Allah, the One who has sent down upon His servant the book, and He has not made any crookedness in it.

Qayyiman le-younzera ba'san shadeedan men ladunhuo wa youbashshera almu'meneena allazina ya'maluona alsalehati anna lahum ajran hasana (2).
Straight, to warn from severe punishment from Him, and to give glad tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a good reward.

Maketheena feehi abada (3).
Abiding therein forever.

Wa younzera allazina qaluo ettakhaza Allahu walada (4).
And to warn those who say that Allah has taken a son.

Ma lahum behi men elmin wa la le-aba-ehim kaburat kalematan takhrujuo men afwahehim in yaquluona ella kazeba (5).
They have no knowledge of it, nor have their fathers, grave is the word that comes out of their mouths, they say nothing but a lie.

Fala-allaka bakhe-on nafsaka ala atharehim in lam you'menuo be-haza alhadeethi asafa (6).
Then perhaps You would destroy Yourself over their footsteps, if they do not believe in this statement in grief.

Inna ja'alna ma ala alardi zinatan laha le-nabluwahum ayyuhum ahsanuo amala (7).
Indeed, We have made what is on the earth an adornment for it, so that We may test them which of them is best in deed.

Wa inna laja-eluona ma alaiyha sa-eedan juruza (8).
And indeed, We will make what is upon it a barren land.

Am hasebta anna ass-haba alkahfi wa alraqeemi kanuo men ayatena ajaba (9)
Or Have You thought that the companions of the cave and the inscription were among Our signs, a wonder?.

Iz awa alfetyatuo ela alkahfi fa-qaluo Rabbana atena men ladunka rahmatan wa hayy' lana men amrena rashada (10).
When the youths took refuge in the cave and said Our Lord, give us mercy from You and prepare for us a right guidance in our affair.

Fa-darabna ala azanehim fee alkahfi seneena adada (11)
So We cast over their ears within the cave a number of years.

Thumma ba'athnahum lena'lama ayyuo alhezbaiyni ahsa lema labethuo amada (12).
Then We raised them up, so that We know which of the two factions had best calculated for what they had remained in time.

Nahnuo naqussuo alaiyka naba-ahum bel-haqqi innahum fetyatun amanuo be-rabbehim wa zednahum huda (13).
We narrate to You their news in truth, they were youths who believed in their Lord and We increased them in guidance.

Wa rabatna ala qulubehim iz qamuo fa-qaluo Rabbuna Rabbu alsamawati wa alardi lan nad-uwa men duonehi elahan laqad qulna izan shatata (14).
And We strengthened their hearts when they stood up and said our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, we will never invoke besides Him any god, we would have certainly spoken, then, an excessive transgression.

Haulae qawmuna ettakhazuo men duonehi alehatan lawla ya'tuona alaiyhim be-sultanin bayyinin faman azlamuo memman eftara ala Allahi kazeba (15).
These our people have taken gods besides Him, Why do they not bring for them a clear authority, and who is more unjust than he who invents a lie about Allah?.

Wa-izi e'tazaltumuhum wa-ma ya'buduona ella Allaha fa'wuo ela alkahfi yanshur lakum Rabbukum men rahmatehi wa youhayy' lakum men amrekum merfaqa (16)
And when you have withdrawn from them and what they worship other than Allah, so seek refuge in the cave, your Lord will spread out for you of His mercy, and will prepare for you an ease in your affair.

Wa tara alshamsa iza tala-at tazawaruo an kahfehim zata alyameeni wa iza gharabat taqreduhum zata alshemali wa hum fee fajwatin menhuo zaleka men ayati ellahi man yahdi ellahu fahuwa almuhtadi wa man youdlel fa-lan tajeda lahuo waliyyan mursheda (17).
And You would see the sun when it rose, inclining away from their cave on the right, and when it set, passing away from them on the left, while they were within an open space thereof, that was from the signs of  Allah, whoever Allah guides, then he is the guided one, but whoever He lets go astray You will not find for him a protecting guide.

Wa tahsabuhum ayqazan wa hum ruqudun wa nuqallebuhum zata alyameni wa zata alshemali wa kalbuhum basetun zera-aiyhi bel-waseedi lawi ettala'ta alaiyhem la-wallayta menhum feraran wa lamuli'ta menhum ru'ba (18).
And You think them awake, while they were asleep, and We turn them to the right and to the left, while their dog stretched his arms at the entrance, if you had looked at them, You would have turned away from them in flight, and would have been filled with terror from them.

Wa kazaleka ba-athnahum leyatasa-aluo baiynahum qala qa-elun menhum kam labethtum qaluo labethna yawman aww ba'da yawmin qaluo Rabbukum a'lamuo bema labethtum fab'athuo ahadakum be-wareqekum hazehi ela almadinati fal-yanzur ayyuha azka ta-aman falya'tekum be-rezqin menhu wal-yatalattaf wa la yoush-eranna bekum ahada (19).
And similarly We raised them up so that they ask each other, a speaker among them said How long have you remained?, they said we have remained a day or a part of a day, they said your Lord knows best how long you have remained, so send one of you with this silver of yours to the city and let him look to which is the purest food, and bring you provision from it, and let him be cautious and let not anyone be aware of you.

Innahum in yazharuo alaiykum yarjumukum aww you-edukum fee mellatehim wa lan tuflehuo izan abada (20).
Indeed, if they come to know of you, they will stone you or return you to their religion, and never would you succeed, then ever.

Wa kazaleka a'tharna alaiyhem leya'lamuo anna wa'da Allahi haqqun wa anna alsa-ata la raiyba feeha iz yatanaza-uona baiynahum amrahum fa-qaluo ebnuo alaiyhim bunyanan Rabbuhum a'lamuo behim qala allazina ghalabuo ala amrehim la-nattakhezanna alaiyhim masjeda (21).
And similarly We made known about them so that they know that the promise of Allah is true, and that of the Hour there in no doubt, when they disputed among themselves about their affair, and they said Construct a structure over them, their Lord knows best about them, said those who prevailed in their matter we will surely take a mosque over them.

Sa-yaquluona thalathatun rabe-uhum kalbuhum wa yaquluona khamsatun sadesuhum kalbuhum rajman bel-ghaiybi wa yaquluona sab-atun wa thamenuhum kalbuhum qul Rabbi a'lamuo be-eddatehim ma ya'lamuhum ella qalelun menhum fala tumari feehim ella mera-an zaheran wa la tastafti feehim menhum ahada (22).
They will say there were three, the fourth of whom is their dog, and they will say there were five, the sixth of whom is their dog, guessing at the unseen, and they will say there were seven and the eighth of whom is their dog, Say My Lord knows best about their number, none knows them except a few, so Do not argue about them except with an obvious argument and Do not inquire anyone of these about them.

Wa la taqulanna leshaiyin inni fa-elun zaleka ghada (23)
And Do not say of anything, indeed, I will do that tomorrow.

Ella an yasha-a Allahu wa-zkur Rabbaka iza nasita wa qul asa an yahdiyani Rabbi le-aqraba men haza rashada (24).
Except if Allah wills, and remember Your Lord when You forget and Say perhaps My Lord will guide Me to what is nearer than this to right guidance.

Wa labethuo fe kahfehim thalatha me-atin seneena wa-zdaduo tes-a (25).
And they remained in their cave for three hundred and added nine.

Quli ellahu a'lamuo bema labethuo lahuo ghaiybuo alsamawati wa alardi abser behi wa asme' ma lahum men duonehi men waliyyin wa la yuoshrekuo fee hukmehi ahada (26).
Say Allah knows best how long they remained, to Him belongs the unseen of the heavens and the earth, How well He sees and How well He hears, they have not besides Him any protector, and He shares not His judgment with anyone.

Wa-tluo ma auheya elaiyka men ketabi Rabbeka la mubaddela le-kalematehi wa lan tajeda men duonehi multahada (27).
And Recite what has been revealed to You of the book of Your Lord, there is none to change His words, and you will not find a refuge besides Him.

Wa-sbir nafsaka ma-a allazina yaduona Rabbahum bel-ghadati wa alashiyyi youreduona wajhahuo wa la ta'duo aiynaka anhum tuoreduo zenata alhayati alduonya wa la tute' man aghfalna qalbahuo an zekrena wa-ttaba-a hawahuo wa kana amruhuo furuta (28).
And Keep Yourself patient with those who call their Lord morning and evening, seeking His countenance, and let not Your eyes pass beyond them, desiring the adornment of the worldly life, and Do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance and who follows his desire and whose affair is excess.

Wa quli alhaqquo men Rabbekum fa-man sha-a falyou'men wa man sha-a falyakfur inna a'tadna lel-zalemeena naran ahata behim suradequha wa in yastaghethuo youghathuo bema-in kal-muhli yashwi alwujuha be'sa alsharabuo wa sa-at murtafaqa (29).
And Say the truth is from your Lord, so whoever wills let him believe and whoever wills let him disbelieve, indeed, We have prepared for the wrongdoers a fire whose walls will surround them, and if they call for help, they will be helped with water like a molten thing which scalds the faces, wretched is the drink and evil is the resting place.

Inna allazina amanuo wa ameluo alsalehati inna la nuode-uo ajra man ahsana amala (30).
Indeed, those who believed and did righteous deeds, indeed, We will not waste the reward of he who is good in deed.

Aulaeka lahum jannatuo adnin tajree men tahtehimuo alanharuo youhallawna feeha men asawera men zahabin wa yalbasuona theiyaban khudran men sundusin wa istabraqin muttake-ena feeha ala al-araeki ne'ma althawabuo wa hasunat murtafaqa (31).
Those will have gardens of Eden beneath them the rivers will flow, they will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and will wear green garments of Sundus and Estabraq, reclining therein on couches, excellent is the reward and good is the resting place.

Wa-drib lahum mathalan rajulaiyni ja'alna le-ahadehima jannataiyni men a'nabin wa hafafnahuma be-nakhlin wa ja'alna baiynahuma zar-a (32).
And Cite for them an example of two men, We provided for one of them two gardens of grapes, and We surrounded both of them with date-palms, and placed crops between them.

Kelta aljannataiyni atat aukulaha wa lam tazlem menhuo shaiy-an wa fajjarna khelalahuma nahra (33).
Each of the two gardens brought forth its fruits, and did not wrong anything of it, and We caused to gush forth within them a river.

Wa kana lahuo thamarun fa-qala le-sahebehi wa huwa youhaweruhuo ana aktharuo menka malan wa a'azzuo nafara (34).
And he had fruit, so he said to his companion while he was conversing with him, I am greater than you in wealth and mightier in men.

Wa dakhala jannatahuo wa huwa zalemun lenafsehi qala ma azunnuo an tabeeda hazehi abada (35).
And he entered his garden while he was unjust to himself, he said I do not think that this will ever perish.

Wa ma azunnuo alsa-ata qa-ematan wala-in rudedtuo ela Rabbi la-ajedanna khaiyran menha munqalaba (36).
And I do not think that the Hour is to come, and even I were brought back to my Lord, I would surely find better than it as a return.

Qala lahuo sahebuhuo wa huwa youhaweruhuo a-kafarta be-llazi khalaqaka men turabin thumma men nutfatin thumma sawwaka rajula (37).
His companion said to him while he was conversing with him, Have you disbelieved in the One who created you from dust then from a sperm-drop, then He proportioned you a man.

Lakenna huwa Allahu Rabbi wa la aushrekuo be-rabbi ahada (38).
But as for me, He is Allah , my lord, and I do not associate anyone with my Lord.

Wa lawla iz dakhalta jannataka qulta ma sha-a Allahu la quwwata ella be-llahi in tarani ana aqalla menka malan wa walada (39).
And Why did you, when you entered your garden, not say what Allah wills, there is no power except with Allah, if you see me lesser than you in wealth and children.

Fa-asa Rabbi an you'teyani khaiyran men jannateka wa yoursela alaiyha husbanan mena alsamae fa-tusbeha sa-eedan zalaqa (40).
Then perhaps my Lord will give me better than your garden and will send upon it a punishment from the sky and it becomes a slippery land.

Aww yousbeha ma-uoha ghawran fa-lan tastate'a lahuo talaba (41).
Or its water becomes sunken, so you would not be able to seek it.

Wa auheta be-thamarehi fa-asbaha youqallebu kaffaiyhi ala ma anfaqa feeha wa heiya khaweiyatun ala auresheha wa yaquluo ya-laiytani lam aushrek be-rabbi ahada (42).
And his fruit were surrounded, so he began to turn his hands over what he has spent in it, while it had collapsed upon its trellises and said O I wish I had not associated anyone with my Lord.

Wa lam takun lahuo fe'atun yansurunahuo men duoni ellahi wa ma kana muntasera (43).
And there was for him no company to help him besides Allah, nor was he able to defend himself.

Hunaleka alwalayatuo lellahi alhaqqi huwa khaiyrun thawaban wa khaiyrun auqba (44).
There the authority is for Allah, the Truth, He is best in reward and best in final end.

Wa-drib lahum mathala alhayati alduonya kama-in anzalnahuo mena alsamae fa-khtalata beh nabatuo alardi fa-asbaha hasheeman tazruhuo alreiyahuo wa kana Allahu ala kulli shaiy-in muqtadera (45).
And Cite to them the example of the worldly life is like water which We send down from the sky, and the plants of the earth mixed with it, and became dry twigs scattered by the winds, and Allah is All-Powerful over everything.

Almaluo wa albanuna zinatuo alhayati alduonya wa albaqiyatuo alsalehatuo khaiyrun enda Rabbeka thawaban wa khaiyrun amala (46).
The wealth and the children are adornment of the worldly life, but the enduring good deeds are better with Your Lord in reward and better in hope.

Wa yawma nusayyeruo aljebala wa tara alarda barezatan wa hasharnahum fa-lam nughader menhum ahada (47).
And the day when We will remove the mountains and you will see the earth prominent, and we will gather them and will not leave anyone of them.

Wa aureduo ala Rabbeka saffan la-qad je'tumuona kama khalaqnakum awwala marratin bal za'amtum allan naj'ala lakum maw-eda (48).
And they will be presented before Your Lord lined up in rows, indeed, you have come to Us just as We created you the first time, but you claimed that We will not make an appointment for you.

And the book will be placed and You will see the criminals apprehensive from what is in it, and they will say Oh woe to us! What is this book that leaves nothing small or great except that it has enumerated it?, and they will find what they did presented, and Your Lord does not wrong anyone.

Wa iz qulna lel-malaekati esjuduo le-adama fa-sajaduo ella ibleesa kana mena aljinni fa-fasaqa an amri Rabbehi afa-tattakhezunahuo wa zurriyyatahuo awliyaa men duoni wa hum lakum aduwwun be'sa lelzalemeena badala (50).
And when We said to the Angels Prostrate to Adam, and they prostrated except for Iblis, he was of the Jinn and disobeyed the command of his Lord, then Will you take him and his progeny as protectors besides Me, while they are enemies to you?, wretched is it for the wrongdoers as an exchange.

Ma ashhadtuhum khalqa alsamawati wa alardi wa la khalqa anfusehim wa ma kuntuo muttakheza almudellina aduda (51).
I did not make them witness to the creation of the heavens and the earth nor to the creation of themselves, and I would not have taken the misguided ones as assistants.

Wa yawma yaquluo naduo shurakaiya allazina za-amtum fada'awhum falam yastajeebuo lahum wa ja'alna baiynahum mawbeqa (52).
And the day when He will say Call My partners whom you claimed, and they will call them, but they will not respond to them and We will put a destruction between them.

Wa ra-a almujreemuona alnara fa-zannuo annahum muwaqe-uoha wa lam yajeduo anha masrefa (53).
And the criminals will see the fire, and they will be certain that they will fall therein, and they will not find from it a way out.

Wa laqad sarrafna fee haza alqurani lel-nasi men kulli mathalin wa kana alinsanuo akthara shaiy-in jadala (54).
And We have certainly explained in this Quran for the people from every example, but man has ever been most of anything dispute.

Wa ma mana-a alnasa an you'menuo iz ja-ahumuo alhuda wa yastaghferuo Rabbahum ella an ta'teiyahum sunnatu alawwaleena aww ya'teiyahumuo alazabuo qubula (55).
And nothing has prevented the people from believing when the guidance came to them and from asking forgiveness of their Lord except that there should come to them the rule of the former people or that the punishment should come before them.

Wa ma nurseluo almursaleena ella mubashshereena wa munzereena wa youjadeluo allazina kafaruo bel-bateli le-youdheduo behi alhaqqa wa-ttakhazuo ayati wa ma aunzeruo huzuwa (56).
And We do not send the Messengers except as bearers of glad tidings and warners, and those who disbelieve dispute by falsehood to refute the truth with it, and they have taken My verses and what they were warned in ridicule.

Wa man azlamuo memman zukkera be-ayati Rabbehi fa-arada anha wa nasiya ma qaddamat yadahuo inna ja'alna ala qulubehim akennatan an yafqahuhuo wa fee azanehim waqran wa in tad-uhum ela alhuda fa-lan yahtaduo izan abada (57).
And who is more unjust than he who is reminded of the verses of his Lord, but turned away from them and forgot what his hands have sent forth?, indeed, We have placed covers over their hearts lest they understand it, and deafness in their ears, and if You call them to guidance, they will never be guided then ever.

Wa Rabbuka alghafuruo zu alrahmati laww you-akhezuhum bema kasabuo la-ajjala lahumuo alazaba bal lahum maw-edun lan yajeduo men duonehi maw-ela (58).
And Your Lord is All-Forgiving Possessor of mercy, if He were to deal with them for what they have earned, He would have hastened for them the punishment, but for them is an appointment from which they will never find a place of refuge.

Wa telka alqura ahlaknahum lamma zalamuo wa ja'alna le-mahlekehim maw-eda (59).
And those towns We destroyed them when they wronged, and We made for their destruction an appointment.

Wa iz qala Musa le-fatahuo la abrahuo hatta ablugha majma-a albahraiyni aww amdeiya huquba (60).
And when Moses said to His servant I will not give up until I reach the junction of the two seas or continue for a long period.

Fa-lamma balagha majma-a baiynehima nasiya hutahuma fa-ttakhaza sabelahuo fee albahri saraba (61).
But when they both reached the junction between them, they both forgot their fish, and it made its way into the sea as in a tunnel.

Fa-lamma jawaza qala le-fatahuo atena ghada-ana laqad laqina men safarina haza nasaba (62).
So when they both had passed beyond it, He said to His servant Bring us our morning meal, indeed, we have suffered a fatigue from this journey of ours.

Qala ara-aiyta iz awaiyna ela alsakhrati fa-inni nasiytuo alhuta wa ma ansanihuo ella alshaiytanuo an azkurahuo wa-ttakhaza sabeelahuo fee albahri ajaba (63).
He said Did You see when we reclined to the rock?, indeed, I forgot the fish, and none made me forget it except Satan that I should mention it, and it took its way into the sea amazingly.

Qala zaleka ma kunna nabghi far-tadda ala atharehima qasasa (64).
He said that is what we were seeking, so they returned on their tracks, following their footsteps.

Fa-wajada abdan men ebadena ataiynahuo rahmatan men endena wa allamnahuo men ladunna elma (65).
And they found a servant from among Our servants to whom We had given mercy from Us, and had taught him from Us a knowledge.

Qala lahuo Musa hal attabe-uka ala an tu-allemani memma aullemta rushda (66).
Moses said to him May I follow you on that you teach Me from what you have been taught of right guidance.

Qala innaka lan tastatee-a ma-eya sabra (67).
He said indeed, with me You will never be able to have patience.

Wa kaiyfa tasbiruo ala ma lam tuhet behi elma (68).
And How can You have patient over what you do not encompass in knowledge?.

Qala sa-tajeduoni in sha-a Allahu saberan wa la a'si laka amra (69).
He said you will find Me, if Allah wills, patient, and I will not disobey you in any order.

Qala fa-ini ettaba'tani fala tas'alni an shaiy-in hatta auhdetha laka menhuo zekra (70).
He said then if You follow me, Do not ask me about anything until I make to you about it a mention.

Fa-ntalaqa hatta iza rakeba fee alsafeenati kharaqaha qala a-kharaqtaha le-tughreqa ahlaha laqad je'ta shaiy-an emra (71).
So they both set out, until when they had embarked on the ship, he tore it open, He said Have you torn it open to drown its people, you have certainly done a grave thing.

Qala alam aqul lnnaka lan tastatee-a ma-eya sabra (72).
He said Did I not say that with me You will never be able to have patience?.

Qala la tu-akhezni bema nasituo wa la turhiqni men amri ausra (73).
He said Do not blame Me for what I forgot, and Do not burden Me in my matter with difficulty.

Fa-ntalaqa hatta iza laqiya ghulaman fa-qatalahuo qala a-qatalta nafsan zakiyyatan be-ghaiyri nafsin laqad je'ta shaiy-an nukra (74).
So they both set out until he met a boy, he killed him, he said Have you killed a pure soul for other than a soul?, indeed, you have done something abominable.

Qala alam aqul laka lnnaka lan tastatee-a ma-eya sabra (75).
He said Did I not say to You that with me You will never be able to have patience?.

Qala in sa-altuka an shaiy-in ba'daha fa-la tusahebni qad balaghta men ladunni auzra (76).
He said if I should ask you about anything after this, then Do not accompany Me, you have obtained from me an excuse.

Fa-ntalaqa hatta iza ataya ahla qaryatin estat-ama ahlaha fa-abaww an youdayyifuhuma fa-wajada feeha jedaran youreduo an yanqadda fa-aqamahuo qala laww she'ta la-ttakhazta alaiyhi ajra (77).
So they both set out until when they came to the people of a town, they asked its people for food, but they refused to host them and they found therein a wall about to collapse, so he restored it, he said if you had wished, you could have taken a wage for it.

Qala haza feraqun baiyni wa baiynika sa-aunabbe-uka beta'weeli ma lam tastate' alaiyhi sabra (78).
He said this is parting between me and You, I will inform You of the interpretation of what you could not have patience about it.

Amma alsafenatuo fa-kanat le-masakeena ya'maluona fee albahri fa-aradtuo an a-ebaha wa kana wara-ahum malekun ya'khuzuo kulla safeenatin ghasba (79).
As for the ship, it belongs to poor people working at the sea, so I intended to cause defect in it as there was after them a king who used to take every ship by force.

Wa amma alghulamuo fa-kana abawahuo mu'menaiyni fa-khashina an yourheqahuma tughyanan wa kufra (80).
And as for the boy, his parents were believers, and We feared that he would overburden them by transgression and disbelief.

Fa-aradna an youbdelahuma Rabbuhuma khaiyran menhuo zakatan wa aqraba ruhma (81).
So We intended that their Lord should replace for them one better than him in purity and nearer to mercy.

Wa amma aljedaruo fa-kana le-ghulamaiyni yateemaiyni fee almadenati wa kana tahtahuo kanzun lahuma wa kana abuhuma salehan fa-arada Rabbuka an yablugha ashuddahuma wa yastakhreja kanzahuma rahmatan men Rabbeka wa ma fa'altahuo an amri zaleka ta'weeluo ma lam tasti' alaiyhi sabra (82).
And as for the wall, it belongs to two orphan boys in the city, and there was beneath it a treasure for them, and their father was righteous, so Your Lord intended that they reach maturity and extract their treasure, as a mercy from your Lord, and I did not do it of my own accord, that is the interpretation of what you could not have patience about it.

Wa yas-alunaka an ze alqarnaiyni qul sa-atluo alaiykum menhuo zekra (83).
And they ask You about Dhul-Qarnain, Say I will recite to you about him a reminder.

Inna makkanna lahuo fee alardi wa ataiynahuo men kulli shaiy-in sababa (84).
Indeed We established Him in the earth, and We gave Him to everything a way.

Fa-atba-a sababa (85).
So He followed a way.

Hatta iza balagha maghreba alshamsi wajadaha taghrubuo fee aiynin hame-atin wa wajada endaha qawman qulna ya za alqarnaiyni imma an tuo-azzeba wa imma an tattakheza feehim husna (86).
Until when He reached the setting of the sun, He found it setting in a muddy spring, and He found near it a people, We said O Dhul-Qarnain either you punish or treat them with goodness.

Qala amma man zalama fa-sawfa nu'azzebuhuo thumma youradduo ela Rabbehi fa-you'azzebuhuo azaban nukra (87).
He said as for he who wrongs we will punish him, then he will be returned to his Lord and He will punish him with a terrible punishment.

Wa amma man amana wa amela salehan fa-lahuo jaza-an alhusna wa sanaquluo lahuo men amrena yousra (88).
But as for he who believes and does righteous deeds, then he will have the best in reward and we will say to him from our command an ease.

Thumma atba-a sababa (89).
Then He followed a way.

Hatta iza balagha matle-a alshamsi wajadaha tatlu-uo ala qawmin lam naj'al lahum men duoneha setra (90).
Until when He reached the rising of the sun, He found it rising on a people for whom We had not made besides it any covering.

Kazaleka wa qad ahatna bema ladaiyhi khubra (91).
Thus, and indeed, We had encompassed what He had in knowledge.

Thumma atba-a sababa (92).
Then He followed a way.

Hatta iza balagha baiyna alsaddaiyni wajada men duonehima qawman la yakaduona yafqahuona qawla (93).
Until when He reached between the two mountains, He found besides them a people who could hardly understand speech.

Qaluo ya-za alqarnaiyni inna ya'juoja wa ma'juoja mufseduona fee alardi fa-hal naj'aluo laka kharjan ala an taj'ala baiynana wa baiynahum sadda (94).
They said O Dhul-Qarnain, indeed, Gog and Magog are corrupters in the land, so Shall we assign for you an expenditure on that you might make between us and them a barrier?.

Simplified interpretation:

Surat Alkahf deals with four stories that demonstrate Allah's power and greatness in managing the affairs of His creation and His never-ending knowledge, which are the story of the companions of the cave, the owner of the two gardens, the story of the Prophet Moses peace be upon Him with Alkhidr, and the story of Dhul-Qarnain. There is a great benefit in learning Surat Alkahf where Allah's Messenger Muhammad (PBUH) said in narration of Abu Darda': "If anyone memorizes the first ten verses of Surat Alkahf, he will be protected from Aldajjal" (Sahih Muslim 809 a), and as narrated by Albra' bin Azeb: "A man recited Surat Alkahf and in the house there was a moving creature which got frightened and started jumping, the man finished his prayer by Taslim, but behold! A mist or cloud hovered over him, he informed the Prophet (PBUH) of that, and the Prophet said O so-and-so Recite for this was a sign of tranquility descending for the recitation of the Quran" (Sahih Albukhari 3614).

And it was said that Surat Alkahf was revealed when the Jewish rabbis said to the polytheists of Quraish Ask Muhammad (PBUH) about three things, if He tells you about two of them and refrains from one, then He is a sent Prophet, and if He does not do so, then He invents a lie, Ask Him about young men who went away in the early era, What was their matter?, for they had a strange story, Ask Him about a man who traveled around the earth, and reached the east and the west of the earth, What was his news?, and Ask Him about the spirit, What is it?, if He tells you that, then He is a Prophet, so Follow Him, but if He does not tell you, then He invents a lie, then do with Him what you see fit.

So the polytheists of Quraish came to Allah's Messenger (PBUH) and said O Muhammad! Tell us about young men who went in the first era who had a strange story, and about a man who traveled around the earth and reached the east and the west of the earth, and Tell us about the spirit What is it?, then Allah's Messenger said to them I will tell you what you asked about tomorrow, and He did not make an exception by saying Inshaa Allah: If Allah wills, so they departed from Him, and Allah's Messenger remained for fifteen nights, Allah did not send down to Him a revelation about that, and Gabriel did not come to Him during these nights, so the polytheists of Mecca began to speak badly about Allah's Messenger, and said Muhammad promised us tomorrow and today is fifteen nights, and He did not tell us anything of what we asked Him about, until the Messenger of Allah was saddened by the delay in the revelation to Him, and what the people of Mecca said was difficult for Him, then Gabriel came to Allah's Messenger from Allah with Surat Alkahf in which there is the news of what they asked Him about regarding the young men (The companions of the cave) and the man who traveled around the earth (Dhul-Qarnain), and Allah has sent to Him in Aya (85) of Surat Alisraa "And they ask You about the spirit, say the spirit is of the command of My Lord, and you have not given of the knowledge except a little", and Allah has blamed His Messenger (PBUH) because He said to them I will tell you what you asked about tomorrow and did not say Inshaa Allah: If Allah wills and revealed to Him "And Do not say of anything, indeed, I will do that tomorrow, except if Allah wills" as will come later in Ayat (23,24).

Allah says in the first three verses (1-3) "Praise be to Allah, the One who has sent down upon His servant the book, and He has not made any crookedness in it, straight, to warn from severe punishment from Him, and to give glad tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a good reward, abiding therein forever", that is, Allah praises Himself for sending down the Holy Quran upon His Messenger Muhammad (PBUH), and it is the greatest blessing that Allah has bestowed upon human beings and Allah has made it in a clear Arabic tongue with no crookedness, deviation, or confusion, and He has made it a straight book guides to a straight path in order to warn of a severe punishment from Allah in the worldly life and the Hereafter for those who deny the Holy Quran, and to give the glad tidings to the believers who believe in the Holy Quran and do righteous deeds that they will have a good reward which is Paradise, abiding therein forever.

Allah says in the next two verses (4,5) "And to warn those who say that Allah has taken a son, they have no knowledge of it, nor have their fathers, grave is the word that comes out of their mouths, they say nothing but a lie", that is,  Allah has sent down the Holy Quran in order to warn specially those who say that Allah has taken a son as the Jews, the Christians, and the disbelievers claim that Allah has taken a son, where the Jews said that Ezra is the son of Allah , and the Christians said that Jesus is the son of Allah as mentioned in Aya (30) of Surat Altawbah, while the disbelievers claimed that the Angels are the daughters of Allah as mentioned in Aya (27) of Surat Alnajm, thereupon, Allah assures that they have not any knowledge of their saying which they fabricated nor have their fathers and ancestors, and how unsightly is their saying for they have no evidence of it except their lies and fabrication, so they only tell a lie.

Allah says in the next three verses (6-8) "Then perhaps You would destroy Yourself over their footsteps, if they do not believe in this statement in grief, indeed, We have made what is on the earth an adornment for it, so that We may test them which of them is best in deed, and indeed, We will make what is upon it a barren land", that is, Allah says to His Messenger perhaps You will destroy and kill Yourself in grief because they do not believe in the Holy Quran, He has to convey Allah's message to them and Allah lets go astray whom He wills, and guides whom He wills, so Allah commanded His Messenger not to let His soul go out in regret for them as mentioned in Aya (8) of Surat Fatir, then Allah confirms that He has made the worldly life a mortal abode, so he has made what is on the earth a fleeting adornment, and it is a place of testing not a place of immortality and survival, so He may test which of His creation is best in deeds, so beware that the pleasures and adornment of the worldly life deceive you, and Allah's Messenger said in narration of Abu Sa'id Alkhudri: "The world is sweet and green, and verily, Allah is going to make you as successors in it in order to see how you act, so fear the world and fear the women, indeed, the first trial of the Children of Israel was in women" (Sahih Muslim 2742), then Allah will turn the earth into ruin and destruction after its adornment, so it will be a barren land devoid of all forms of life.

Allah says in the next four verses (9-12) "Or Have You thought that the companions of the cave and the inscription were among Our signs, a wonder?, when the youths took refuge in the cave and said Our Lord, give us mercy from You and prepare for us a right guidance in our affair, so We cast over their ears within the cave a number of years, then We raised them up, so that We know which of the two factions had best calculated for what they had remained in time", that is, Allah assures His Messenger that the companions of the cave and the inscription in which there is their news were not a wonder among His signs that indicate His power and authority; for the creation of the heavens, the earth and what is between them is more wondrous than that, then Allah tells about those youths who fled from their people lest they seduce them from their religion, so they sought refuge in a cave in a mountain to hide from their people, and they asked Allah when entered the cave to grant them from Him a mercy with which He conceals them from their people, and to decree for them a guidance in their affair, so Allah cast sleep upon them when they entered the cave and they slept for many years, then Allah raised them up from their sleep so that He may know which of the two factions who disputed about them had best calculated for what they had remained in the cave in time.

Allah says in the next four verses (13-16) "We narrate to You their news in truth, they were youths who believed in their Lord and We increased them in guidance, and We strengthened their hearts when they stood up and said our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, we will never invoke besides Him any god, we would have certainly spoken, then, an excessive transgression, these our people have taken gods besides Him, Why do they not bring for them a clear authority, and who is more unjust than he who invents a lie about Allah?, and when you have withdrawn from them and what they worship other than Allah, so seek refuge in the cave, your Lord will spread out for you of His mercy, and will prepare for you an ease in your affair", that is, Allah addresses His Messenger Muhammad (PBUH) and said that He narrates to Him the story of the companions of the cave in truth, and they were youths who believed in Allah, acknowledged His oneness, and testified that there is no god but Him, so Allah increased them in guidance and gave them piety, and Allah strengthened their hearts and gave them patience over opposing their people. They all agreed on one word and said that their Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and that they will never invoke besides Allah any god, and if they do so, they would have said a falsehood and excessive transgression, and they acknowledged that their people have worshipped gods besides Allah without any proof, if they were right, why do they not bring a clear authority for the validity of their gods, and who is more unjust than he who invents a lie about Allah?, thereupon, they decided to flee with their religion, and said to each other "When you have withdrawn from them and what they worship other than Allah, so seek refuge in the cave", so that Allah will spread out for them of His mercy and save them from the disbelievers, and He will ease for them their affair in which they are of distress and anguish for fear for themselves and their religion.

Allah says in the next two verses (17,18) "And You would see the sun when it rose, inclining away from their cave on the right, and when it set, passing away from them on the left, while they were within an open space thereof, that was from the signs of Allah, whoever Allah guides, then he is the guided one, but whoever He lets go astray You will not find for him a protecting guide, and You think them awake, while they were asleep, and We turn them to the right and to the left, while their dog stretched his arms at the entrance, if you had looked at them, You would have turned away from them in flight, and would have been filled with terror from them'', that is, Allah tells His Messenger about His blessings upon the companions of the cave which preserves their bodies lest the earth would eat them as the sun enters their cave at sunrise and sunset, but when it rose, it inclined away from their cave on the right, and when it set, it passed away from them on the left, while they were within an open space of their cave, and that was from the signs of Allah that indicate His great ability where the sun does not touch them nor burn them, thereupon, Allah is the One who guided these youths from among their people, so Allah says he whom Allah guides, then he is the guided one, but he whom He lets go astray You will not find for him a protecting guide, then Allah said to His Messenger that He would think them awake while they were asleep, and Allah turned them in their sleep once to the right side and once to the left side, while their dog stretched his forelegs at the entrance, and Allah had bestowed awe on them in such a way that no one looks at them but fears them, so that none will come close to them or harm them, so Allah says "If you had looked at them, You would have turned away from them in flight, and would have been filled with terror from them".

Allah says in the next two verses (19,20) "And similarly We raised them up so that they ask each other, a speaker among them said How long have you remained?, they said we have remained a day or a part of a day, they said your Lord knows best how long you have remained, so send one of you with this silver of yours to the city and let him look to which is the purest food, and bring you provision from it, and let him be cautious and let not anyone be aware of you, indeed, if they come to know of you, they will stone you or return you to their religion, and never would you succeed, then ever", that is, just as Allah cast sleep upon them, He raised them up, so that they ask one another How long did you sleep?, so one of them asked the others How long have you remained?, they said we remained a day or a part of a day, then they referred the knowledge of that to Allah and said that Allah knows best how long they have remained. They woke up from their sleep hungry, so they said send one of you with your silver coins to your city from which you fled, and let him look to which is the purest food, and bring you provision from it, and let him be careful in his going out and returning and let not anyone be aware of you, if your people knew where you are, they will stone and punish you or return you to their religion, and if you return to their religion, then there is no success for you in the worldly life or in the Hereafter.

Allah says in the next verse (21) "And similarly We made known about them so that they know that the promise of Allah is true, and that of the Hour there in no doubt, when they disputed among themselves about their affair, and they said Construct a structure over them, their Lord knows best about them, said those who prevailed in their matter we will surely take a mosque over them", that is, when one of them went to the city in order to bring food and had old coins, the people of the city became suspicious of him for the coins he had were from centuries ago, so they knew about them and went to the cave, and Allah made known about them so that the people of the city know that the promise of Allah is true and the Hour (the day of resurrection) is coming, and there is no doubt about it, when they disputed among themselves about their affair where they differed about the day of resurrection and Allah's ability to revive the dead, so some of them suggested that they build a building over them and leave them as they are, and said that Allah knows best about them, but those who prevailed in their matter said that they will take a place of worship over them.

Allah says in the next three verses (22-24) "They will say there were three, the fourth of whom is their dog, and they will say there were five, the sixth of whom is their dog, guessing at the unseen, and they will say there were seven and the eighth of whom is their dog, Say My Lord knows best about their number, none knows them except a few, so Do not argue about them except with an obvious argument and Do not inquire anyone of these about them, and Do not say of anything, indeed, I will do that tomorrow, except if Allah wills, and remember Your Lord when You forget and Say perhaps My Lord will guide Me to what is nearer than this to right guidance", that is, Allah informs that the people differed about the number of the companions of the cave as there were three sayings, this first group said that they were three and the fourth of whom is their dog, and the second group said that they were five, the sixth of whom is their dog, and Allah has weakened these two saying and said that this was guessing at the unseen as they said that without any knowledge, whereas the third group said that they were seven and the eighth of whom is their dog, and this opinion is the closest to the truth; because Allah did not say that it is without knowledge, like the previous two opinions, but He commanded His Messenger Muhammad (PBUH) to say to His people that Allah knows best about their number and none knows them except a few as there is no need to delve into such things without knowledge, and no benefit in knowing their number, so He commanded Him not to argue about them except with an apparent argument and not to ask anyone about them; because they have no knowledge of that except what they say of conjecture at the unseen.

Then Allah blamed His Messenger (PBUH) because He said to the polytheists of Quraish, when they asked Him about the companions of the cave, Dhul-Qarnain, and the spirit, I will tell you what you asked about tomorrow and did not say Inshaa Allah: If Allah wills, so the revelation was delayed for fifteen nights until the polytheists of Mecca began to speak badly about Allah's Messenger, and the Messenger of Allah was saddened by the delay in the revelation to Him, and what the people of Mecca said was difficult for Him, then Gabriel came down with the news of what the polytheists of Quraish had asked about, and Allah commanded His Messenger no to say of anything "I will do this tomorrow", but to refer it to Allah's willing by saying "Inshaa Allah: If Allah wills", to remember Allah when He forgets to say "Inshaa Allahin His speech, even if after a while, unless it is an oath, then he must submit Allah's willing along with his oath so that he has a way out if he breaks his oath; because the meaning of his oath then will be if Allah wills, I will do, and if Allah does not will, I will not do, but if he breaks his oath and he does not submit it along with Allah's willing, then he must make an expiation for his oath, even if he said ''Inshaa Allah" after that, and there are three ways of the expiation of an oath as mentioned in Aya (89) of Surat Almaedah, then Allah commanded His Messenger to say perhaps My Lord will guide Me to what is nearer than this to right guidance if he was asked about something that he does not know.

Allah says in the next three verses (25-27) "And they remained in their cave for three hundred and added nine, Say Allah knows best how long they remained, to Him belongs the unseen of the heavens and the earth, How well He sees and How well He hears, they have not besides Him any protector, and He shares not His judgment with anyone, and Recite what has been revealed to You of the book of Your Lord, there is none to change His words, and you will not find a refuge besides Him", that is, Allah tells about the period of time that the companions of the cave remained in their cave till He raised them up and made them known to the people, and it was three hundred years and added nine in the Hijri calendar, and three hundred years in the Gregorian calendar, where every hundred years in the Gregorian calendar is one hundred and three years in the Hijri calendar, therefore, the three hundred years in the Gregorian calendar are three hundred and nine in the Hijri calendar, so Allah says "And added nine", then Allah commanded His Messenger to say Allah knows best how long they remained if they argued with Him about that; for He has the unseen of the heavens and the earth and nothing is hidden from Him, and none sees more than Allah nor hears, and they have not besides Allah any protector as He manages their affair as He wills, and He has not any partners nor equals, so He does not share His judgment with anyone. Then Allah commanded His Messenger to recite and convey the Holy Quran to His people, and Allah assures that there is none to change or distort His words, so what Allah's Messenger recite from the book is the truth from His Lord, and if He did not convey Allah's message, then He will not find any refuge besides Allah, and Allah will punish Him with a severe punishment if He said something from His own and attributed it to Allah as mentioned in Ayat (44-46) of Surat Alhaqqah.

Allah says in the next verse (28) "And Keep Yourself patient with those who call their Lord morning and evening, seeking His countenance, and let not Your eyes pass beyond them, desiring the adornment of the worldly life, and Do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance and who follows his desire and whose affair is excess", that is, Allah commanded His Messenger Muhammad (PBUH) to be patient over those who remember, praise, glorify, and ask Allah morning and evening seeking the countenance of Allah, whether they are rich or poor, strong or weak, where the nobles of Quraish asked Allah's Messenger to sit with them alone, and not gather them with the poor Muslims, but Allah commanded Him not to expel the poor Muslims as mentioned in Aya (52) of Surat Alan'am, commanded Him not to pass His eyes beyond them to those of honor and wealth, desiring the adornment of the worldly life, and commanded Him not to obey he whose heart Allah has made heedless of His remembrance, so he turns away from worshipping Allah, and follows his desire, and his actions and deeds are excess and thoughtlessness.

Allah says in the next verse (29) "And Say the truth is from your Lord, so whoever wills let him believe and whoever wills let him disbelieve, indeed, We have prepared for the wrongdoers a fire whose walls will surround them, and if they call for help, they will be helped with water like a molten thing which scalds the faces, wretched is the drink and evil is the resting place'', that is, Allah commanded His Messenger to say to His people that what He has brought to them from their Lord is the truth in which there is no doubt, so whoever wills let him believe and whoever wills let him disbelieve, and Allah will recompense each for his deeds, so He has prepared for the wrongdoers who disbelieve in Him, His Messengers, and His books a fire whose walls will surround them, and Allah will drive the criminals to Hellfire thirsty as mentioned in Aya (86) of Surat Maryam, so when they will call to help from the intense heat, they will be helped with water like a molten thing and when they will bring it close to their faces, it will scald their faces, so how wretched is that drink, and how wretched is their abode in Hellfire.

Allah says in the next two verses (30,31) "Indeed, those who believed and did righteous deeds, indeed, We will not waste the reward of he who is good in deed, those will have gardens of Eden beneath them the rivers will flow, they will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and will wear green garments of Sundus and Estabraq, reclining therein on couches, excellent is the reward and good is the resting place", that is, contrary to the state of the disbelievers on the day of resurrection in the previous verse, those who believed in Allah and His Messengers and did righteous deeds, indeed, Allah will not deprive them the reward of their good deeds, and their reward will be gardens of Eden beneath them the rivers flow, and Eden is one of the names of Paradise, and they will be adorned by bracelets of gold, they will wear garments of fine silk (Sundus), and of thick silk (Istabraq), and they will recline therein on couches, so excellent is the reward, and good is their abode in Paradise.

Allah says in the next three verses (32-34) "And Cite for them an example of two men, We provided for one of them two gardens of grapes, and We surrounded both of them with date-palms, and placed crops between them, each of the two gardens brought forth its fruits, and did not wrong anything of it, and We caused to gush forth within them a river, and he had fruit, so he said to his companion while he was conversing with him, I am greater than you in wealth and mightier in men'', that is, when the arrogant polytheists refused to sit with the weak and the needy Muslims as shown above in Aya (28), Allah commanded His Messenger to cite for them the example of two men, a disbeliever and a believer, Allah has granted the disbeliever two orchards of grapes surrounded by palm-trees, and within them were crops, and each of the trees and crops was fruitful, so each of the two gardens brought forth its fruits, and did not diminish any thing from it, and Allah caused a river to flow within them, thereupon, he has many types of money, so He said to the believer while he was conversing and boasting I have more wealth than you, and I have more children and slaves.

Allah says in the next two verses (35,36) "And he entered his garden while he was unjust to himself, he said I do not think that this will ever perish, and I do not think that the Hour is to come, and even I were brought back to my Lord, I would surely find better than it as a return", that is, the disbeliever entered his garden while he was unjust to himself with disbelief and arrogance, and when he saw the trees, the fruits, and the crops, in addition to a river flowing in its sides, he thought that it would never perish or be destroyed, so he said "I do not think that this will ever perish", and he denied the resurrection and said that he does not think that the Hour (The day of resurrection) will occur, and if he were brought back to Allah, he would surely find better than the two gardens as a return in the Hereafter, and that is what the infidel always thinks as he thinks that Allah will give him in the Hereafter just as gave him in the worldly life as mentioned in Aya (77) of Surat Maryam, and Aya (50) of Surat Fussilat.

Allah says in the next two verses (37,38) "His companion said to him while he was conversing with him, Have you disbelieved in the One who created you from dust then from a sperm-drop, then He proportioned you a man, but as for me, He is Allah, my lord, and I do not associate anyone with my Lord", that is, the believer admonished the disbeliever when he was conversing with him Have you disbelieved in the One who has created you from dust then from a sperm-drop, then He proportioned you a man, where Allah is the One who perfected everything He created and began the creation of Adam from clay, then He made his progeny from an extract of disdained water as mentioned in Aya (7,8) of Surat Alsajdah, then the believer said to Him that he believes in Allah, his Lord, and he does not associate anyone with Allah, so Allah alone is worthy of worship and He has no partner.

Allah says in the next three verses (39-41) "And Why did you, when you entered your garden, not say what Allah wills, there is no power except with Allah, if you see me lesser than you in wealth and children, then perhaps my Lord will give me better than your garden and will send upon it a punishment from the sky and it becomes a slippery land, Or its water becomes sunken, so you would not be able to seek it", that is, the believer continued to admonish the disbeliever and said to him Why did you not thank Allah when you enter your garden and looked at it, and not say "what Allah wills, there is no power except with Allah", and as narrated by Abu Musa Alash'ari that the Messenger of Allah said to him: "Shall I not tell you a word from the treasures of Paradise? or He said a treasure from the treasures of Paradise, and I said yes, so He said La hawla wa la quwwata ella bellah: there is no might nor power except with Allah" (Sahih Muslim 2704 g), then the believer admonished him to acknowledge that whatever wealth he had accumulated is by the ability of Allah not his ability, and just as He bestowed it on him, He is capable of destroying it, so he said to him if you see that I am lesser than you in wealth and children in the worldly life, then perhaps Allah will give me better than your garden in the Hereafter, and will send upon your garden which you thought would never perish a punishment from the sky that destroys its fruits and uproots its trees, so it will become a slippery barren land that does not grow anything, or its water disappears in the land, so you will not be able to seek it by taking it out the land or bringing any other water. The believer did not envy the disbeliever and wish that his garden would be destroyed, so he hopes for a garden better than it in the worldly life, but he believes in what Allah has promised His believing servants in the Hereafter.

Allah says in the next three verses (42-44) "And his fruit were surrounded, so he began to turn his hands over what he has spent in it, while it had collapsed upon its trellises and said O I wish I had not associated anyone with my Lord, and there was for him no company to help him besides Allah, nor was he able to defend himself, there the authority is for Allah, the Truth, He is best in reward and best in final end", that is, the destruction encompassed the fruits and the crops of his garden about which he said "I do not think that this will ever perish", so he began to turn his hands one upon the other, regretting the loss of his expenses that he spent in his garden while it had collapsed upon it trellises, and said "O I wish I had not associated anyone with my Lord", and there was for him no company or clan to save him from Allah's punishment, nor was he able to defend himself, so there was no savior for him, thereupon, the authority was for Allah, the Truth; for the disbeliever returned to Allah when the punishment befell him, and Allah is best in reward and best in final end on the day of resurrection.

Allah says in the next two verses (45,46) ''And Cite to them the example of the worldly life is like water which We send down from the sky, and the plants of the earth mixed with it, and became dry twigs scattered by the winds, and Allah is All-Powerful over everything, the wealth and the children are adornment of the worldly life, but the enduring good deeds are better with Your Lord in reward and better in hope'', that is, Allah commanded His Messenger to cite to His people the example of the worldly life in its demise is like rain which Allah sends down from the sky, and the vegetation of the earth mixes with it, so it brings forth plants of different shapes and colors, then after its greenness and freshness, it becomes dry twigs scattered by the wind, so they will not be deceived by the worldly life for it will quickly end when the command of Allah comes, and it will be as if it did not exist yesterday for its destiny is to annihilation and disappearance, and Allah is All-powerful to do whatever He wills, and neither impediment nor inability can prevent Him from doing whatever He wills. Then Allah assures that the wealth and the children are the adornment of the worldly life and it will not benefit man in the Hereafter, but the enduring righteous deeds that include all good deeds such as the remembrance of Allah, the prayer, alms-giving, etc., will remain for its people in Paradise as long as the heavens and the earth remain, then on the day of resurrection it will be better in reward and better in hope; because the wealth and the children are for the sake of the worldly life, but the enduring righteous deeds are for the sake of the Hereafter and hope of Paradise.

Allah says in the next two verses (47,48) "And the day when We will remove the mountains and you will see the earth prominent, and we will gather them and will not leave anyone of them, and they will be presented before Your Lord lined up in rows, indeed, you have come to Us just as We created you the first time, but you claimed that We will not make an appointment for you", that is, Allah cites some of the scenes of the day of resurrection where He will blow the mountains up totally and it will disappear until it become a mirage as mentioned in Aya (20) of Surat Alnaba', so you will see the earth prominent as it will be flat land with no mountains, trees, or buildings, and Allah will gather the first ones and the last ones in one place and will not leave anyone of them behind neither young nor old, and they will be presented before Allah lined up in rows, and it will be said to the disbelievers who deny the resurrection as a reprimand "Indeed, you have come to Us just as We created you the first time, but you claimed that We will not make an appointment for you'', so what you used to deny is present before your eyes.

Allah says in the next verse (49) "And the book will be placed and You will see the criminals apprehensive from what is in it, and they will say Oh woe to us! What is this book that leaves nothing small or great except that it has enumerated it?, and they will find what they did presented, and Your Lord does not wrong anyone", that is, on the day of resurrection, the book of deeds will be placed, and you will see the disbelievers fearful of what is in it of their evil deeds, and they will say Oh woe to us! What is this book that does not leave a deed or a sin, small or great, except it has enumerated it, and they will find what they did of good or evil presented before their eyes and Allah does not wrong anyone as He will reckon each according to his deeds, where the wrongdoers will be recompensed for their evil deeds and nothing will be added to their sins, whereas nothing will be deprived from the reward of the good-doers, so if man's deed of obedience or disobedience was the weight of a grain of mustard seed, Allah will bring it forth as mentioned in Aya (47) of Surat Alanbiyaa.

Allah says in the next two verses (50,51) "And when We said to the Angels Prostrate to Adam, and they prostrated except for Iblis, he was of the Jinn and disobeyed the command of his Lord, then Will you take him and his progeny as protectors besides Me, while they are enemies to you?, wretched is it for the wrongdoers as an exchange, I did not make them witness to the creation of the heavens and the earth nor to the creation of themselves, and I would not have taken the misguided ones as assistants", that is, AllahAlmighty, warns the children of Adam of Satan's enmity towards them and their father Adam before them when He said to the Angels Prostrate to Adam, and they all prostrated before Adam except for Iblis, he was not one of the Angels, but he was one of the Jinn, and he rebelled against the command of Allah, so Allah rebukes those who follow the command of Iblis and disobey their Creator and says "Then Will you take him and his progeny as protectors besides Me, while they are enemies to you?", wretched is it for the wrongdoers as an exchange for they take Iblis and his offspring as allies instead of Allah while his mission is to mislead and deceive them, and Allah's Messenger (PBUH) said in narration of Jabir: "Iblis places his throne on the water, he then sends his detachments, the nearer to him in status is the greatest of them in sedition, one of them comes and says I did such-and-such, then he says you have done nothing, then one of them comes and says I did not spare so-and-so until I separated between him and his wife, so he brings him closer to him and says excellent are you" (Sahih Muslim 2813 b). Then Allah assures that those whom they have taken as allies besides Him are nothing but slaves like them, and they do not possess anything in the heavens nor on the earth, and Allah did not make them witness to the creation of the heavens and the earth nor to the creation of themselves, and He would have taken the misguided one as assistants, so Allah is the Creator and the Possessor of everything with no partner, and He did not seek their help in creating the heavens and the earth nor did He consult with them.

Allah says in the next two verses (52,53) "And the day when He will say Call My partners whom you claimed, and they will call them, but they will not respond to them and We will put a destruction between them, and the criminals will see the fire, and they will be certain that they will fall therein, and they will not find from it a way out", that is, Allah will call the polytheists on the day of resurrection and will say to them as a reprimand Call My partners whom you claimed in the worldly life in order to save you from what you are in, so they will call them, but they will not respond to them, and Allah will put a place of destruction they share in, and the criminals will see Hellfire, and will be certain that they will inevitably fall in it, and they will not find any way to escape from it.

Allah says in the next verse (54) "And We have certainly explained in this Quran for the people from every example, but man has ever been most of anything dispute", that is, Allah assures that He has explained in the Holy Quran for the people from every example so that they do not go astray and deviate from the path of guidance, but man often quarrels, disputes, and opposes truth with falsehood except for those whom Allah has guided, and as narrated by Alhusain from His father Ali bin Abi Talib that Allah's Messenger (PBUH) came one night to see him and Fatimah (The daughter of the Prophet) and said Don't you observe Tahajjud prayer?, Ali said Messenger of Allah, our souls are in the hands of Allah and when He wants to awaken us, He awakens us, the Messenger of Allah went back when I said this to Him, He was striking His hand on His thigh while returning and I heard Him says "But man has ever been most of anything dispute" (Sahih Muslim 775).

Allah says in the next two verses (55,56) "And nothing has prevented the people from believing when the guidance came to them and from asking forgiveness of their Lord except that there should come to them the rule of the former people or that the punishment should come before them, and We do not send the Messengers except as bearers of glad tidings and warners, and those who disbelieve dispute by falsehood to refute the truth with it, and they have taken My verses and what they were warned in ridicule", that is, Allah confirms that nothing has prevented the disbelievers from believing when the guidance and the clear signs came to them, and from asking forgiveness from Allah except that there should befall them the rule of Allah in the former people who denied their Messengers, or that the punishment should come suddenly before their eyes, where Quraish said to Allah if this is the truth from You, then rain stones on us from the sky or bring us a painful punishment as mentioned in Aya (32) of Surat Alanfal, so their belief depended on seeing the punishment of the former people such as the people of the Prophet Lot and the companions of the elephant who were perished by stones from the sky or to see the punishment that they were promised before they eyes. But Allah did not punish any town until He sends a Messenger, so He assures that He does not send the Messengers except as bearers of glad tidings of Paradise for those who believe, repent and do righteous deeds, and warners of a painful torment in Hellfire for those who disbelieve and oppose their Messenger, but those who disbelieve dispute by falsehood in order to refute and weaken the truth which the Messengers brought to them, and they have taken the verses of the Holy Quran and what they were warned of in mockery and sarcasm.

Allah says in the next verse (57) "And who is more unjust than he who is reminded of the verses of his Lord, but turned away from them and forgot what his hands have sent forth?, indeed, We have placed covers over their hearts lest they understand it, and deafness in their ears, and if You call them to guidance, they will never be guided then ever", that is, none is more unjust to himself than he who is reminded and admonished by the verses of Allah that He revealed in the Holy Quran, but he underestimated them, turned away from accepting them, and did not pay attention to them, and he forgot what his hands have sent forth of disbelief and disobedience. So Allah assures that He has prevented faith from entering their hearts and their hearing as He has put covers over their hearts lest they understand the Holy Quran, and deafness in their ears, thereupon, Allah said to His Messenger that if He calls them to guidance, they will never be guided.

Allah says in the next two verses (58,59) "And Your Lord is All-Forgiving Possessor of mercy, if He were to deal with them for what they have earned, He would have hastened for them the punishment, but for them is an appointment from which they will never find a place of refuge, and those towns We destroyed them when they wronged, and We made for their destruction an appointment'', that is, Allah assures His Messenger that He is All-Forgiving, Possessor of mercy for those who repent, believe, and do righteous deeds, but if He were to deal with the polytheists who have taken His verses in mockery and turned away from them for what they have earned of disbelief and disobedience, He would have hastened for them the punishment in the worldly life, but for them is an appointment which is the day of resurrection from which they will not find a place of refuge in order to save them from Allah's punishment, thereupon, Allah threatens them and says that He has destroyed the towns of the previous nations because of their disbelief and stubbornness, and He has made an appointed time for their destruction

Allah says in the next nineteenth verses (60-87) "And when Moses said to His servant I will not give up until I reach the junction of the two seas or continue for a long period, but when they both reached the junction between them, they both forgot their fish, and it made its way into the sea as in a tunnel, so when they both had passed beyond it, He said to His servant Bring us our morning meal, indeed, we have suffered a fatigue from this journey of ours, he said Did You see when we reclined to the rock?, indeed, I forgot the fish, and none made me forget it except Satan that I should mention it, and it took its way into the sea amazingly, He said that is what we were seeking, so they returned on their tracks, following their footsteps, and they found a servant from among Our servants to whom We had given mercy from Us, and had taught him from Us a knowledge, Moses said to him May I follow you on that you teach Me from what you have been taught of right guidance, He said indeed, with me You will never be able to have patience, and How can You have patient over what you do not encompass in knowledge?, He said you will find Me, if Allah wills, patient, and I will not disobey you in any order, He said then if You follow me, Do not ask me about anything until I make to you about it a mention, so they both set out, until when they had embarked on the ship, he tore it open, He said Have you torn it open to drown its people, you have certainly done a grave thing, He said Did I not say that with me You will never be able to have patience?, He said Do not blame Me for what I forgot, and Do not burden Me in my matter with difficulty, so they both set out until he met a boy, he killed him, he said Have you killed a pure soul for other than a soul?, indeed, you have done something abominable, He said Did I not say to You that with me You will never be able to have patience?, He said if I should ask you about anything after this, then Do not accompany Me, you have obtained from me an excuse, so they both set out until when they came to the people of a town, they asked its people for food, but they refused to host them and they found therein a wall about to collapse, so he restored it, he said if you had wished, you could have taken a wage for it, He said this is parting between me and You, I will inform You of the interpretation of what you could not have patience about it", that is, the Prophet Moses peace be upon Him claimed that He is the most knowledgeable person among the people, so Allah wanted to teach him that there is someone more knowledgeable than Him.

As narrated by Sa'id bin Jubair: "I said to Ibn Abbas that Nauf Albakali claims that Moses, the companion of Alkhidr was not the Moses of the Children of Israel, Ibn Abbas said the enemy of Allah Nauf told a lie, as narrated by Ubayy bin Ka'b that he heard Allah's Messenger saying: Moses got up to deliver a speech before the Children o Israel, and He was asked Who is the most knowledgeable person among the people?, Moses replied I, so Allah blamed Him for He did ascribe the knowledge to Allah alone, then He revealed to Him at the junction of the two seas, there is a servant of Ours who is more knowledgeable than you. Moses asked, O My Lord! How can I meet him?, Allah said Take a fish and put it in a basket, and where You will lose the fish, you will find him, so Moses took a fish and put it in a basket and set out, along with His servant Yusha' bin Noon, till they reached a rock on which they both laid their heads and slept, the fish moved vigorously in the basket and got out of it, and fell into the sea, and it made its way into the sea as in a tunnel, Allah stopped the current of water on both sides of the way created by the fish, and so that way was like a tunnel. When Moses got up, his companion forgot to tell Him about the fish, and so they carried on their journey during the rest of the day and the whole night.

The next morning Moses asked His servant Bring us our morning meal, indeed, we have suffered a fatigue from this journey of ours, Moses did not get tired till He had passed the place which Allah had ordered Him to seek after. His servant then said to Him Did You see when we reclined to the rock?, indeed, I forgot the fish, and none made me forget it except Satan that I should mention it, and it took its way into the sea amazingly, there was a tunnel for the fish, and for Moses and His servant there was astonishment, Moses said that is what we were seeking, so they both returned on their tracks, following their footsteps till they reached the rock, behold! There they found a man covered with a garment, Moses greeted him "Peace be upon you'', Alkhidr said astonishingly Is there such a greeting in Your land? Moses said I am Moses, he said Are you Moses of the Children of Israel?, Moses said yes, may I follow you on that you teach Me from what you have been taught of right guidance, Alkhidr said with me You will never be able to have patience, O Moses! I have some of Allah's knowledge which He has bestowed upon me but you do not know it, and you too have some of Allah's knowledge which He has bestowed upon you, but I do  not know it, Moses said you will find Me, if Allah wills, patient, and I will not disobey you in any order, Alkhidr said to him then if You follow me, Do not ask me about anything until I make to you about it a mention, after that both of them proceeded along the sea coast till a boat passed by and they asked the crew to let them go on board, the crew recognized Alkhidr and allowed them to get on board free of charge, when they got on board suddenly Moses saw that Alkhidr had pulled out one of the planks of the boat with an adze, Moses said these people gave us a free lift, yet you have torn it open to drown its people, you have certainly done a grave thing, Alkhidr said Did I not say that with me You will never be able to have patience?, Moses said Do not blame Me for what I forgot, and Do not burden Me in my matter with difficulty.

Allah's Messenger said the first excuse given by Moses was that he had forgotten. Then a sparrow came and sat over the edge of the boat and dipped its beak once in the sea, Alkhidr said to Moses my knowledge and your knowledge compared to Allah's knowledge is like what this sparrow has taken out of the sea. Then they both got out of the boat, and while they were walking on the sea shore, Alkhidr saw a boy playing with other boys, Alkhidr got hold of the head of that boy and pulled it out with his hands and killed him, Moses said Have you killed a pure soul for other than a soul?, indeed, you have done something abominable, Alkhidr said Did I not say to You that with me You will never be able to have patience?, the sub narrator said that the second blame of Alkhidr was stronger than the first one, Moses said if I should ask you about anything after this, then Do not accompany Me, you have obtained from me an excuse, then they both proceeded until they came to the inhabitants of a town, they asked its people for food, but they refused to host them and they found therein a wall about to collapse, Alkhidr set it up straight with his own hands, Moses said these are people to whom we came, but they neither fed us nor received us as guests, if you had wished, you could have taken a wage for it, Alkhidr said this is parting between me and You, I will inform You of the interpretation of what you could not have patience about it, till he said that is the interpretation of what about which you could not have patience, Allah's Messenger said We wished that Moses could have been more patient so that Allah might have described to Us more about their story" (Sahih Albukhari 4725).

Allah says in the next four verses (79-82) "As for the ship, it belongs to poor people working at the sea, so I intended to cause defect in it as there was after them a king who used to take every ship by force, and as for the boy, his parents were believers, and We feared that he would overburden them by transgression and disbelief, so We intended that their Lord should replace for them one better than him in purity and nearer to mercy, and as for the wall, it belongs to two orphan boys in the city, and there was beneath it a treasure for them, and their father was righteous, so Your Lord intended that they reach maturity and extract their treasure, as a mercy from your Lord, and I did not do it of my own accord, that is the interpretation of what you could not have patience about it", that is, Alkhidr began to explain what was confusing to the Prophet Moses, and said that the ship belongs to poor people working at it, and they will pass by an unjust king who would take every good ship by force, so He caused defect in it so that the king would leave it because of its defect and its owner would benefit from it. As for the boy, he was a rebellious one, and his parents were believers, so Allah ordered Him to killed the boy so that he would not burden his parents by transgression and disbelief, and Allah would replace for them one better than him in purity and nearer to mercy to his parents, and Ibn Abbas narrated that Ubayy bin Ka'b narrated that the Prophet said: "The boy that Alkhidr killed was destined to be a disbeliever the day he was created" (Jami' Altirmidhi 3150). As for the wall, He only repaired the wall because it belonged to two orphan boys in the city and underneath it was a treasure belonging to them, and their father was a righteous man, so Allah intended that they reach maturity and extract their treasure, as a mercy from Allah, then Alkhidr assured the Prophet Moses that He did not do it of his own accord, rather He did it on behalf of the command of Allah, and He said to Him "That is the interpretation of what you could not have patience about it".

Allah says in the next three verses (83-85) "And they ask You about Dhul-Qarnain, Say I will recite to you about him a reminder, indeed We established Him in the earth, and We gave Him to everything a way, so He followed a way'', that is, the Polytheists of Quraish asked Allah's Messenger (PBUH) about Dhul-Qarnain, so Allah ordered Him to say that He will recite to them his news, then Allah assures that He has empowered Dhul-Qarnain in the earth, and Allah facilitate for him the means and the ways for everything, so everything submitted to Him and He did not set foot on any land except that He has authority over its people, and He followed a way in the land until He reached the east and the west of the earth with ease.

Allah says in the next four verses (86-89) "Until when He reached the setting of the sun, He found it setting in a muddy spring, and He found near it a people, We said O Dhul-Qarnain either you punish or treat them with goodness, He said as for he who wrongs we will punish him, then he will be returned to his Lord and He will punish him with a terrible punishment, but as for he who believes and does righteous deeds, then he will have the best in reward and we will say to him from our command an ease, then He followed a way", that is, Dhul-Qarnain took a way in the land until He reached the farthest part of the earth in which the sun sets, He found the sun setting in a muddy spring, and He found near it a people, then Allah empowered Him over them, so He said to Him either you punish and kill them if they did not respond to you or treat them with goodness and guide them to the straight path, thereupon, He said to Allah as for he who wrongs and persists on disbelief, he will punish him, then he will be returned to Allah on the day of resurrection and He will punish him with a severe punishment, but as for he who believes in Allah and does righteous deeds, then He will have the best reward in the Hereafter, and He will say to him an ease and will teach him what will bring him closer to Allah, then Dhul-Qarnain left them and followed a second way in the land.

Allah says in the next three verses (90-92) "Until when He reached the rising of the sun, He found it rising on a people for whom We had not made besides it any covering, thus, and indeed, We had encompassed what He had in knowledge, then He followed a way'', that is, when Dhul-Qarnain reached the farthest part of the earth in which the sun rises, He found the sun rising on a people for whom Allah has not made any covering, so no buildings to shelter them nor trees to shade them from its heat, and Allah encompassed what Dhul-Qarnain had in knowledge as nothing of their affair is hidden from Him, then Dhul-Qarnain left them and followed a third way in the land.

Allah says in the next three verses (93-95) "Until when He reached between the two mountains, He found besides them a people who could hardly understand speech, they said O Dhul-Qarnain, indeed, Gog and Magog are corrupters in the land, so Shall we assign for you an expenditure on that you might make between us and them a barrier?, He said that in which My Lord has established me is better, but assist me with strength, I will make between you and them a dam", that is, when Dhul-Qarnain reached between the two mountains, He found besides the two mountains a people who could hardly understand what others say as they do not understand a language other their own, they hardly said to Him that Gog and Magog are corrupters on the land, and they asked Him to make a barrier between them and Gog and Magog on the condition that they will assign for Him a great wage, but He refused to receive a wage and told them that what Allah has given Him and established Him in is better than what they have, He just asked them to help Him make a barrier between them and Gog and Magog. And as narrated by Abu Rafi', from Abu Hurayrah from the Prophet (PBUH) regarding the barrier: "They excavated each day until when they are just about to penetrate it, their leader says, Go back so that you can penetrate it tomorrow, He said but Allah makes it return just as it was, until their appointed time, when Allah ordains to send them upon the people, and their leader says Go back so you can penetrate it tomorrow if Allah wills, so he makes the exception, He said so they return and find it just as it was when they left it, then they penetrate and they are released upon the people drinking up the water, and the people flee from them, they shoot their arrows into the heavens so they returned dyed with blood, and they say, crudely and arrogantly, we vanquished those in the earth let us dominate the inhabitants of the heavens, then Allah sends Naghaf (Worms) upon them, attaching to the nape of their necks, destroying them, He said by the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad! The beasts of the earth will become very fat and their bellies will be filled to the brim with eating from their flesh" (Jami' Altirmidhi 3153). And Allah's Messenger said in narration of Nawwas bin Sam'an: "The Muslims will use the bows, arrows, and shields of Gog and Magog as firewood for seven years" (Sunan Ibn Majah 4076).

Allah says in the next three verses (96-98) "Bring me sheets of iron, until when he had leveled between the two mountains, he said Blow until when he had made it a fire, he said Bring me that I may pour copper over it, so they were unable to pass over it, nor were they able in it any penetration, He said this is a mercy from My Lord, but when the promise of my Lord comes, He will make it level, and the promise of my Lord is true", that is, Dhul-Qarnain asked them to bring pieces of iron, then He placed them one upon each other until they aligned the tops of the two mountains in length and width, then He ordered them to kindle the fire on the iron pieces until they became fire, He said to them Bring me molten copper that he may pour it over the iron, so Gog and Magog were not able to climb above the dam, nor were they able to penetrate it through the hole they make every day as shown above, but they will penetrate the dam before the day of resurrection, and that is one of the ten signs that will happen before the day of resurrection, and then Gog and Magog will descend from every elevation in order to cause corruption in the land as mentioned in Aya (96) of Surat Alanbiyaa. When Dhul-Qarnain finished building the dam, He said that it is a mercy from Allah to the people as He placed a barrier between them and Gog and Magog, preventing them form causing corruption in the land, but when the promise of Allah comes which is the day of resurrection, Allah will level the dam to the ground, and the promise of Allah is true and it will inevitably happen.

Allah says in the next four verses (99-102) "And We will leave them that day surging upon each other, and the trumpet will be blown, and We will assemble them altogether, and We will present Hellfire that day to the disbelievers, a display, those whose eyes had been within a cover from My remembrance, and they were not able to hear, then Do those who disbelieve think that they would take My servants besides Me as protectors, indeed, We have prepared Hellfire for the disbelievers as a hospitality", that is, on the day of resurrection, the Jinn and the men will surge upon each other out of their confusion and hesitation, then the trumpet will be blown the blow of resurrection, and Allah will gather the Jinn and the men altogether, and will not leave anyone of them as shown above in Aya (47), and Allah will show the Hellfire to the disbelievers, so they will see the punishment before entering it, where Allah's Messenger (PBUH) said in narration of Abdullah bin Mas'ud: "Hellfire would be brought on the day of resurrection with seventy thousand bridles, and seventy thousand Angels dragging each bridle" (Sahih Muslim 2842). Then Allah describes the disbelievers and says those whose eyes were within a cover from the remembrance of Allah, so they did not see the guidance and the signs of Allah nor did they hear the verses of Allah. Then Allah threatens those who take protectors besides Him from among His servants such as the Jews and the Christians who ascribe a son to Allah and the disbelievers who claimed that the Angels are the daughters of Allah for they thought that they would benefit them, but rather they will deny them and will be their opponents on the day of resurrection as mentioned in Aya (82) of Surat Maryam, so Allah has prepared Hellfire as hospitality for the disbelievers.

Allah says in the next four verses (103-106) "Say shall We inform you of the greatest losers as to deeds, those whose endeavor is lost in the worldly life while they think that they are doing well in work, those are the ones who disbelieve in the signs of their Lord, and in the meeting with Him, so their deeds were nullified, and We will not assign any weight to them on the day of resurrection, that is their recompense, Hellfire because they disbelieved and they took My signs and My Messengers in ridicule", that is, Allah commanded His Messenger to inform about the great losers in deeds on the day of resurrection, and as narrated by Mus'ab: "I asked my father Was the verse "Say shall We inform you of the greatest losers as to deeds" revealed regarding Alharuriyya?, he said no, but regarding the Jews and the Christians for the Jews denied Muhammad, and the Christians disbelieved in Paradise and said that there are neither food nor drinks therein, Alharuriyya are those people who break their pledge to Allah after they have confirmed that they will fulfill it, and Sa'd used to call them Alfaseqeen: disobedient" (Sahih Albukhari 4728). Then Allah assures that the great losers are those whose effort is lost in the worldly life as they do evil deeds while they think that they are doing good deeds, they denied Allah's signs and proofs that indicate His Oneness and the truthfulness of His Messengers, and they denied the Hereafter and the meeting with Allah, so Allah will nullify their deeds, and will not assign any weight to them on the day of resurrection, and as narrated by Abu Hurayrah: "Allah's Messenger (PBUH) said on the day of resurrection, a huge fat man will come who will not weigh, the weight of the wing of a mosquito in Allah's sight, and then the Prophet added "And We will not assign any weight to them on the day of resurrection" (Sahih Albukhari 4729). So they will enter Hellfire because they disbelieved in Allah, and they used to take Allah's signs and Messengers in mockery and sarcasm.

Allah says in the next two verses (107,108) "Indeed, those who believed and did righteous deeds, for them will be the gardens of Alfirdaws as a hospitality, abiding therein forever, they will not desire from it any transfer", that is, Allah assures that He has prepared for those who believed in Him, His Messengers, and His books, and did righteous deeds the garden of Alfirdaws as a hospitality, abiding therein forever, and despite their eternal residence, they will not get tired of it, but rather they will not choose any change or transition from it, and Allah's Messenger said in narration of Abu Hurayrah: "If you ask Allah, Ask Him for the Firdaws which is the best and highest part of paradise, above it is the Throne of the Most Gracious, and from it originate the rivers of Paradise".

Allah says in the last two verses (109,110) "Say if the sea were ink for the words of My Lord, the sea would have been exhausted before the words of My Lord were exhausted even if We brought the like of it as a supplement, Say indeed, I am only a human being like you, it is revealed to Me that your God is One God, so whoever hopes to the meeting with his Lord, let him do righteous deed and not associate in the worship of his Lord anyone", that is, Allah commanded His Messenger to say if the water of the sea were ink for the pen with which the words of Allah were written, indicating His Oneness and greatness, the sea would have been exhausted before the words of Allah were exhausted, even if Allah brought the like of the sea as a supplement, and if whatever is on the earth of trees were pens and the sea is supported by seven seas following it, the word of Allah would not have been exhausted as mentioned in Aya (27) of Surat Luqman. Then Allah commanded His Messenger to say to the polytheists who denied Him that He is only a human being like them, just conveying to them what is revealed to Him and it is revealed to Him that their God is One God who is Allah with no partner, so whoever hopes to the meeting with Allah on the day of resurrection and hopes to His reward, let him do righteous deeds, and not associate anyone in the worship of Allah and let him be sincere in his worship of Allah, and not make his deeds, which appear that it is for Allah, intended for someone else, where Allah's Messenger (PBUH) said in narration of Abu Hurayrah: "Allah, the Most High and Exalted, said I am the One who does not stand in need of a partner, so whoever does a deed in which he associated anyone else with Me, I shall leave him with the one whom he associates with Me" (Sahih Muslim 298).
