Simplified interpretation:

Surat Alkafiruon (the disbelievers) is a statement from Allah's Messenger (PBUH) to the disbelievers of Qurayesh, where Allah Almighty commanded Him in the first word of this Surah (Say) to disavow from the religion of the disbelievers and from their deeds.

It has been said that there is a specifically cause of the revelation of this Surah, where the disbelievers of Mecca invited the Messenger of Allah to worship their Idols for a year, and they would in turn worship His God (Allah) for a year.

Qurayesh and other Arab tribes had many idols (Gods) to worship, but Allah has mentioned the most important three ones in Surat Alnajm Ayat (19-20) when He said: "So have you seen the Lat and the Uzza, and the third Manat, the other?. So they worshipped the Lat, the Uzza, and the Manat and they built houses for them.

In addition to proposing of exchange of the worship with Our prophet (PBUH), they asked Him not to mention their gods badly, so the decisive answer came from Our prophet regarding to the present and the future state of worship for both parties.

As for the present state of worship it has been mentioned in the second and third verses "I do not worship what you worship, nor are you worshippers of what I worship", that is,  Allah's Messenger said that He does not worship what they worship, and on the other hand they do not worship Allah, the One.

The future state was mentioned in the next two verses (4,5) "Neither will I ever be a worshipper of what you worship, nor will you ever be worshippers of what I worship", where He (PBUH) said that He will not worship their Gods nor they will not worship Allah

Based on both cases! Our prophet said to them in the last verse (6) "For you is your religion, and for Me is my religion". The word religion has many interpretations, Some commentators took the original sense of the word and said that it refers to the worship of Allah, and to the worship of their idols, and the second opinion said that it refers to the deeds of Our Prophet and their deeds, while the others said that it refers to the recompense in the hereafter for both parties.

No one Knows its interpretation except Allah
