What to do after the prayer

There are several remembrances that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was keen to recite after every prayer and He (PBUH) used to teach them to His companions, May Allah be pleased with them, including glorification, remembrances, supplications, and reciting some Surahs of the Holy Quran, and some of them are listed below.

1- Allah's Messenger (PBUH) said in narration of Abu Hurayrah: "If anyone glorifies Allah (Subhana Allah) after every prayer thirty-three times, and praises Allah (Alhamdu lellah) thirty-three times, and declares His Greatness (Allahu Akbar) thirty-three times, so these are ninety-nine in all, and says to complete a hundred La ilaha ella Allahu wahdahuo la shareeka lahu lahu al-mulku wa lahu al-hamdu wa huwa ala kulli shaiy-in qadeer: There is no god but Allah, He has no partner, to Him is the Dominion, and to Him is the Praise, and He is All-Powerful over everything, his sins will be forgiven even if they are as abundant as the foam of the sea" (Sahih Muslim 597).

2- Allah's Messenger (PBUH) recommended reciting the Mu'awwizat after every prayer, and it was said that the word Mu'awwizat, not Mu'awwazatain, is used in conjunction with Surat Surat Alfalaq, and Surat Alnas along with Surat Alikhlas and Surat Alkafirun, as Uqbah bin Amir reported: "The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) commanded me to recite Mu'awwizat after every prayer" (Sunan Abi Dawood 1523).

3- As narrated by Thawban: "When the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) finished His prayer, He asked forgiveness three times, and then said Allahumma anta alsalamu, wa minka Alsalamu tbarakta ya za al-jalali wal-ikram: O Allah! You are Peace, and from You comes peace, Blessed are You, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor, Walid reported I said to Awza'i How is the seeking of forgiveness, he replied you should say Astaghferu Allah, Astaghferu Allah: I seek the forgiveness of Allah, I seek the forgiveness of Allah" (Sahih Muslim 591).

4- Warrad, the freed slave of Mughira bin Shu'ba reported: "Mughira wrote to Muawiya bin Abi Sufyan that Allah's Messenger used to say after Taslim of every prayer: la illaha illa Allahu wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahu almulku wa lahu alhamdu, wa huwa ala quli shay'in qadeer, Allahumma la mane'a lema a'tayta, wa la mo'tya lema mana'ta, wa la yanfa'ou za aljadi minka aljad: There is no God  but Allah, He has no partner, to Him is the Dominion, and to Him is the Praise, and He is All-Powerful over everything, O Allah! There is none who can withhold what you give, and none may give what you have withheld, and the might of the mighty person cannot benefit against You" (Sahih Albukhari 6330).

5- Mus'ab bin Sa'd and Amr bin Maimun narrated: "Sa'd used to teach his children these words just as the teacher teaches children, and he would say indeed, the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) usd to seek refuge by saying them at the end of each prayer Allahumma inni a'auzu bika mena aljubni wa a'auzu bika mena albukhli, wa a'auzu bika men arzali al-umuri wa a'auzu bika men fetnati aldunya wa azabi alqabr: O Allah! I seek refuge in You from cowardliness, I seek refuge in You from miserliness, I seek refuge in You from feeble old age, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of the world, and the punishment of grave" (Jami' Altirmidhi 3567).
