  Faith issue in Islam

Allah, Almighty, says in Aya (185) of Surat Albaqarah: {The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to Him from His Lord, and the believers, all of them have believed in Allah and His Angels and His Books and His Messengers, we make no distinction between any of His Messengers, and they say we hear and we obey, Your forgiveness our Lord and to you is the final return}. And Allah says in Ayat (84,85) of Surat Ali Imran {Say we have believed in Allah and in what was sent down to us, and what was sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Descendants, and in what was given to Moses and Jesus, and to the Prophets from their Lord, we do not make distinction between any of them and to Him we are Muslims, and whoever seeks other than Islam as religion, it will not be accepted from him, and he will be among the losers in the Hereafter}.

And as narrated by Abu Hurayrah: "One day while Allah's Messenger (PBUH) was sitting in the company of some people, Gabriel (The Angel) came and then said O Messenger of Allah! What is faith?, upon this Allah's Messenger replied faith is to believe in Allah, His Angels, the meeting with Him, His Messengers, and to believe in resurrection" (Sahih Albukhari 50). And in another narration of Umar bin Alkhattab: "Gabriel said to Allah's Messenger (PBUH) Tell me about faith, He said is to believe in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, and the Last Day, and to believe in destiny, its good and its evil, Gabriel said You have told the truth" (Sahih Muslim 8).

Thereupon, the Muslims believe in Allah, there is no God but Him, so they do not worship anyone but Him, and they also believe in His Angels, believe in what was sent down to them of the Holy Quran, and in what was sent down to the Prophets Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Descendants of Scriptures and revelation, and the Descendants are the Descendants of the Prophet Jacob, and among them is the Prophet Joseph, and they believe in what was given to Moses of the Torah and Jesus of the Gospel, and in what was given to all the Prophets from their Lord, so they believe in all of them and they do not make distinction between any of them, so they do not disbelieve in any Prophet or any Scripture, rather they believe in what was sent down from Allah, and in every Prophet sent by Allah

The Muslims believe in the Last day, which is the day of resurrection, and that Allah will resurrect them from the graves, so they believe in the resurrection, Paradise, Hellfire, reckoning, and the scale that weighs their deeds. And the Muslims also believe in the destiny, so they believe that everything that happens in the universe is the decree of Allah, and that He knows that it will occur at specific times with specific characteristics, and it will occur according to His will and to what He decreed, and as narrated by Alwalid bin Ubadah bin Alsamit from his father that Allah's Messenger (PBUH) said: "Indeed, the first of what Allah has created was the pen, He said to it Write, so it wrote what will be forever" (Jami' Altirmidhi 3319).

And as narrated by Ali, may Allah be blessed with him: "While we were in a funeral procession in Baqi' Algharqad, Allah's Messenger (PBUH) came and sat down, and we sat around Him, He has a small stick in His hand, and He bent His head and started scraping the ground with it, He then said there is none among you, and no created soul but has his place written for him either in paradise or in Hellfire, and also has his happy or miserable fate (in the Hereafter) written for him, a man said O Allah's Messenger! Shall we depend upon what is written for us and give up doing good deeds?, for whoever among us is destined to be fortunate (in the Hereafter), will join the fortunate people and whoever among us is destined to be miserable will do such deeds as are characteristic of the people who are destined to misery, the Prophet said those who are destined to be happy will find it easy and pleasant to do the deeds that are characteristic of those destined to happiness, while those who are to be among the miserable will find it easy to do the deeds that are characteristic of those destined to misery", then He recited As for the one who gives and is righteous, and believes in the best: Surat Al-Lail Ayat (5,6)" (Sahih Albukhari 4948). And as narrated by Tawus: "I found some of the companions of Allah's Messenger (PBUH) as saying everything is by destiny, and he further said, I heard Abdullah bin Umar as saying that he heard the Messenger of Allah as saying there is a destiny for everything even for incapacity and capability" (Sahih Muslim 2656).
